I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

I do know what steroids can do to the body...sometimes you wonder if the cure is worth it, right?? LOL
Seriously, my DIL is having to take steroids for a breathing problem she is having...and she says she feels better, but her jeans are getting tight..and she is debating if she wants to keep taking the medicine.
In your case...I would definitely NOT worry about a swollen neck...that will go away soon, I just pray that it happens soon.
Don't over do it...be kind to yourself, because you are worth it.

You are in my prayers each day and I am confident that the Lord is providing for you and that He is strengthening you in many ways. It's wonderful that you could spend a little interlude with your family and celebrate the precious moments of life. Hi everybody -
Mama's in the hospital again. The swelling she was experiencing was due to pressure on the vena cava by the tumor on her lung, and she was beginning to feel, from the pressure of the swelling, some constriction in her breathing. She and Daddy went to the hospital to have this seen to. She's on some meds and the swelling in her neck and face have gone down some; she'll probably be released tomorrow during the day.
If y'all could say some especially big prayers for her, I'd appreciate it. This hasn't been a great week for her, anyway, and then this new thing cropping up - she could really stand some BIG prayers on her behalf. Thanks and love to all of you.
Prayers are on the way. I haven't ceased to pray for her daily.

When I saw it was you who was pinging me, poppyseed...I was so afraid to even look, to be honest with you.
I have kay in my heart all the time, and pray like crazy for her.

Went to see medical oncologist today. Secon opinion we got on Tuesday persuaded him do do a course of chemo beginning on Monday.
Please pray that the treatments will not weaken me to the point that they are doing more harm than good.
We continue to praise the Lord for each day of life and breath.
May God be your strength as you go through these difficult days.
He is faithful, dear friend! And I know that you are well aware of this blessed fact!
