Tallahassee -- On a bright January day marked by bone-numbing 33-degree cold, Jeb Bush took office as Florida's 43rd governor with a pledge to safeguard the interests of the people, not the bureaucrats.
In the ensuing eight years, Bush sent shivers through Florida's status quo as he gathered more power than any previous governor and reshaped state government to fit his vision.

Nicknamed "King Jeb," he led with an iron will and an ideological bent, transforming what he saw as a tangle of red tape and squanderer of public money into a smaller, business-friendly administration needing fewer tax dollars to run.
As he passes the mantle to Charlie Crist on Tuesday, Bush's legacy is that of a leader adamant about doing things his way, who fearlessly championed such controversial causes as school vouchers, faith-based prisons and prolonging the life of Terri Schiavo.
Yet while his tenure coincided with a sizzling economy and an overflowing treasury, Bush failed to make Florida a better place for all. His back-to-back terms were marred by frequent ethics scandals, official bungling and the inability of the government he downsized to meet growing demands for state services, from education to aid for the infirm and the elderly.

And that is why we loved him. Reading the last few paragraphs of this article it is clear the writer hated him and was running out of negative adjetives. But the Sun-Sentinel is the official news letter of the South Florida Democrat party.
"Most governors have been committed to the public sector. They grew up knowing and supporting government,"
Most SOCIALISTS have been committed to the public sector. They grew up knowing and supporting SOCIALISM.
There.
--the usual lib blather--I suppose Florida had to be fenced in to keep everybody there from escaping--(sarc)
What is it about "leadership" that liberals don't understand?
The HATE AND VITROIL can't be kept internal, like children finally having a temper tantrum after being told no.
Jeb was by far one of the best governors this state have ever had.
Christ has some really big shoes to fill
It enforces its power with violence and threat of violence--the bigger and more powerful the government--even the best government ever devised--the greater the evil and the greater the violence and threat of violence.
If government is not kept small enough to be controlled by the people it governs, it will control the people it governs.
Anyone who favors big, controlling government favors big, evil, violent government and is either a fool or a scoundrel who intends to profit from the evil and violence of the government.
Yes. These people cannot think outside their own mass paradigm.
In fact, with the exception of the sociopaths who lead them, libs don't think at all.
Their blather is so tiresomely predictable--they are so mind-numbingly boring--they are so brainlessly mired in groupthink--they are so stifflingly unoriginal--that if they were not so shallow, they would bore themselves to death.
I think the "journalist" must have gotten confused and thought she was posting on Kos or DU when she wrote that. Blind shuddering hatred can cause that.
The most important thing they don't understand is that their "leaders" are self-serving narcissists and sociopaths who feign a concern for other people and for worthy causes in order to manipulate the fools who follow them into providing them power and that the "leadership" that these "leaders" offer is, in fact, a cynical grasp for self-serving power.
You nailed it. Liberals are hell bent on more handouts, more taxes to pay for them, and; they despise anyone who takes on big government to make it more smaller and more effiecient.
Same here. I've lived in Florida since 93 and I have never heard this term.
This reporter is a moron.
I like the way you think. Maybe you could set up an 'about page' so we could learn more about you?
Ed
Thanks, Ed, but all anybody needs to know about me is that I'm an average American man in every possible way, but I deeply appriciate you comments. Thank you.

Huh?
Most governors have been committed to the public sector. They grew up knowing and supporting government,"Most SOCIALISTS have been committed to the public sector. They grew up knowing and supporting SOCIALISM.
SOCIALISTS have been committed tothe public sectorcriticizing, condemning, and second guessing the people who make risky decisions in the absence of perfect information in order provide our food, shelter, clothing, and security. They grew up knowing that they didn't want to work like that themselves, but demanding credit for superiority over those who do. And the result is SOCIALISM.
Well, I hope we are in agreement that SOCIALISM SUCKS!
Gee, ya think?
Sometimes a point doesn't have to be made more than once.

One factor of econ does make economic sense anymore then the link above does. One must look at all factors. It appears you have reinforced my original premise that LIBS want more handouts. Namely spending.
