That's an example of poems that I write to satisfy myself. (But of course I'm willing to share!)

My childhood was very precious to me, as it is to each of us. I like to celebrate it.

Dolly found that delightful young'un to go with the poem. Looks just like me, except I was black and white and shades of gray back then.

This is a wonderful thread billie..Jam packed w/info! great graphics & LOVE! I don't know much about the former first ladies & this motivates me to do more checking in "all my spare time". I never realized Jackie was so young. I always liked her (I guess I am in minority here at FR). I loved her class, beauty, poise etc. Later was POd when hearing how frequently JFK cheated on her..

I also liked the ladies of Inaug.. I missed that thread completely as I was at Inaug & at that time My computer DIED & in the several days until I had a new one, I just had too much I guess to catch up on & never saw. Your thread on the Bush ladies was great.

The one sad thing in reading these older threads is that they are full of screen-names no longer with us. Some to death,Banned, some to just AWOL for whatever reason from Finest.

I know in the couple years I have been a hostess there are many who have "disappeared" (I AM SORRY.. didn't mean to chase them away). I miss them. Some were friends from other threads along the way & I felt badly when their lives changed so that they could not be with us.

WISH all of those who "drop" out of FR for a time would post something on their profile page so we all don't worry if they have died, are dying, or are bored to death with things here.. (could be)

But we all know that we hang out where we "fit" & feel wanted & appreciated & hopefully those still with FR will drop in now & then to say hi

Not only that, but I used words that have been in common use for hundreds of years! Not much originality here, I guess.

Heck, a bunch of the words I used even sounded alike.

I guess I'm going to have to work on that.

A woman stormed out of a Shakespearian presentation, complaining that "the Bard" displayed remarkably little talent.

"Why, all he did was string a lot of familiar quotations together!"

Billie, I think it is a great idea for all visitor to (if they wish) go to varous threads & pick out one or more graphics & comment. Hope you will use it every time. And I know it bothers you re: formatting, but it seems to JUST be a centering "thing" & NOT that bad, all considered. It could have thrown off all formatting, eliminated table borders , or other such "fun" horrors.

I wish I had 100 hours in a day. I truly do

Let's keep working to make my second favorite Texan successful in all his endeavors.

I'm all for that. Wish those ugly dems would quit trying to destroy everything he's done and trying to do.

I bet our President would enjoy those of he and Laura and the darling girls.

Thank you, jaycee. I don't think I've drawn any since I did those in 2001. (I sent the originals to the White House and was thrilled when I received a very nice thank you in return.)

Yes, the list of names has changed a lot, but even though we lose some, we gain others, and there are some who've been here since we opened the doors On June 24, 2002. I'm glad you enjoyed the look back at some more of the early threads, and actually not all of the formatting looks awful without the blockquotes. Some are worse than others, though, and just hate that they got messed up.

A late hello to you, jwfiv, and thank you for dropping in before I said goodnight. :) Thank you, too, Dave for being here from the beginning!

Now, I really do need to say goodnight, and thanks to all of you, for you've made today's thread much more special. Dolly, yes, we'll have to do this same thing every three months when Hall of Fame is posted.
