I do not think Miami would be where he should of had his surgery. Take him to Berkley and they would protect him. The commies would probably take up arms if someone tried to hurt a hair on poor ole Castros head.

Why do people such as Castro and Arafat live such long lives? Why would Satan call them home when there doing such good jobs for him?

Not botched enough.
Course, you have to wonder how much of an accident it was.

" I'm just a regular guy, had the same surgery with no colostomy, and I had no complications. About a third of my colon is missing, but I don't miss it."
I had similiar surgery in February 2000. Nice, big (but straight) incision. Was out of the hospital in 5 days with zero complications. Welcome to the ranks of the Semicolon.

Why do people such as Castro and Arafat live such long lives? I figure that either they're doing such a good job for Satan, that he's keeping them alive as long as possible, OR they're so bad that hell doesn't even want them.

Yes, it is ironic... Fidel spent hundreds of millions if not billions to give health care in Cuba a face lift. The money was spent on state of the art equipment that has no use when the entire medical infrastructure has essentially collapsed. Fidel wanted Cuba to become the hospital to South and Central America to use as a propoganda tool, not out of a real desire to help anyone.
To: edpc
LOL, my thoughts exactly. I'm sure there are lots of Cuban doctors and nurses in Miami.

"Very few docs I have met are Dems. Most of them abhor Hillary and her health care schemes."
Most older docs are Republicans and most younger docs are democrats.

[Delicious irony.]
Or, Divine intervention.
Or, Karma's a b*tch.
Or, The law of unintended consequences.
I read on DU that the doctor who botched the operations was a CIA plant, who happened to be a dead ringer for Fidel's regular surgeon. LOL./s

The healthcare that Castro gives his subjects. The bottom part of the page is incredible.
After seeing these pictures, I hope Fidel continues to linger for a long time, without sedatives or pain killers. It'll prepare him for what's next.

Why do people such as Castro and Arafat live such long lives?Exploiting other people gives them a reason to live and keeps them young. I once knew a mean old woman who conducted a protracted litigation trying to screw several of her relatives out of some family property. She was battling cancer during the whole case, but she kept going until the case ended. Once it was over, she no longer had a means to torment her family, and she died within six months.

This being Cuba, a land of fabulously creative mechanics, I don't see why they weren't able to keep him going with parts from an early 50's dictator.... or Plymouth.
In my ute, I was very fond of the Hudson 3-carburetor intake set-up, aka, "Triple H Power." Must be some of them around Havana.
