OMG.
Scroll down to Post #5.
It's very sad to hear of the passing of the elderly lady. I know pinkos read this thread, and I tried to warn them a year ago about the cruelty of having her out in extreme temperatures when her elderly body is NOT capable of regulating its own temperature! If she had been an infant or a dog, they would have gotten citations!
Oh. My. Goodness. That is a 5 tissue post. God bless every one of them. Why have I never seen photos like that in the LSM?
Voted and sent out to my lists. Some have responded giving you the vote. ;*)
Why isn't free republic on the aleethias links page?
806 (a soldiers perspective) to 645 as of today.
I just checked in and my monitor is now very blurry. . . . What awesome kids--their parents/teachers have taught them well. May I ask the full name of our fallen hero? (If you don't think the family would want it posted, of course bow to their wishes!)
That's great, chcknhawk!
With no disrespect to other FReepers' favorite milblogs, this contest only accepts one vote per computer, so be sure to "caucus" your vote -- last I checked, Soldier's Perspective is the only one that's been mentioned herein that so far has a chance at the top prize, so let's get behind the winning horse for the sake of these little ballerinas. The prize does not automatically go to the ballerinas; only Soldier's Perspective has made that promise.
(Although the other blogs, certainly Semper Gratus, have run donation campaigns at other times that are very worthy; so support all your favorite milblogs at the most appropriate times!)
Yep. Disgustin', ain't it?
This is an excellent idea -- thanks!
And if she had been a Republican, they would have been calling their congressmen to start an investigation.
Beautiful post, EmilyGeiger, thank you so much!
Thank you for your posts and bumps to this thread! We appreciate your interest in this ongoing FReep-o-rama!!
Woohoo!
I don't know the name of the soldier. This was an e-mail forwarded from a friend, of a friend, of a friend. Sorry...
Criminal.
Just saw this posted in the original thread. chcknhawk, what a sweetheart you are!!
Here's a Way to Support Marines' Kids -- With a Click
FReeper chcknhawk tells us this week that his Soldier's Perspective is vying to win a prize for the best milblog. Why? So he can donate the money to benefit the Camp Lejeune Ballerinas recital, where the little girls will sing and dance to life-size cutout photos of their dads -- which they will get to keep after the recital. His blog would like to help purchase those cut-outs (costing $99 a "pop") to "relieve the burden on our deployed Marines. The top prize is $3,000., and everyone in the top 10 will get $250. Please click this VA Mortgage Center link and place your vote for Soldier's Perspective (towards the bottom of the list) to help us help those young girls. Can you also please ask your friends and other family members to take a few seconds to vote as well? Thank you so much," chcknhawk writes.
