My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding.They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.

Memorial Day prayers for Caroline.
All of Carrie's family are extremely grateful to those who continue to pray for her total recovery during this time of drawn-out waiting. It is very encouraging to read that she continues to improve, to regain her faculties, despite the slow pace. God is knitting her (back) together, as He once did before she was born.From my uncle
Today D, a favorite nurse, let Carrie's mother know that Carrie's stomach feeding tube came right out and it had a hole in it. I think M finally has found someone who can get a replacement out to the house. Then they will need someone who can put it back in properly.
(Carrie's boyfriend) B's parents came over to visit Carrie in the afternoon. His mom is reading a book to Carrie. They exercise her and talk to her so nicely. Yesterday B came over to visit in the morning. The nurse said he brought some more CD's for Carrie to hear. C, a best friend of Carrie's, came to visit yesterday morning too. Carrie is supposed to be Maid of Honor in her August wedding.
Carrie had her surgery as planned last Tuesday. She came home Wednesday about noon. She certainly looks a lot nicer with her round head. M and the nurse took the bandage off Thursday, and Carrie does look nice.
This morning M was telling us about another real nice nurse, A, who they really like. She's going to bring her nutrition nursing books over for M to read. You know, M has been blending all sorts of good foods to feed Carrie instead of relying on the canned product.
Carrie's color is good, her vital signs are good, and we think she is responding more to people. A door slammed shut. Both she and I jumped at the noise. Nurses notice improvements as well as B and his parents.

Thank you very much, khenrich. The latest update on my cousin’s condition is posted at # 2524. She has come a long way since that first day, when the doctors didn’t expect her to make it.

Thank you for the update. I continue to pray for Carrie and appreciate your effort to keep us posted.
How nice, that Carrie, has a normal rounded head again. Soon her hair will grow back and cover the scars. She hears sounds and responds to them, how wonderful is that. The door slamming, she heard it. Carrie hears all of your loving voices too. Prayers are being answered.
I will continue to pray for Carrie to have a complete healing. Thanks for the update, and the good news. I feel like I have a vested interest in Carrie, for all the prayers and concern that I have sent coming your way. :-) It sure is nice when prayers are answered.
