I'd have to look it up but I seem to remember Adali Stephenson always seemed to be the Democrats candidate during that time, so it may have been him. I also understand Eisenhower was courted by both Republicans and Democrats, similar to Colin Powell, which was one of the reasons the media fawned over Powell.

This brilliant woman is a bigger flip flopper than jon carry.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said he doesn't see any of the proposed resolutions getting the 60 votes needed to pass.

oh my GOD! A Senate Republican Leader with a spine! What an utter tragedy our 100%ers and Always Whining Caucus had to cut their noise off to spite their face just as we were FINALLY going to get a Republican Senate Leader with a spine! Now we will have to wait another 40 years before the idiots wake up.

This does not build confidence in the decisions these people make on behalf of the American people.

Nor do parroted statements from fellow travellers on Sunday Morning sound bites. The Kerrys and Bidens think their positions are God given and that connecting with the American people is beneath them. And that is where the true problem lies-Senatorial powers and perks are hard to relinquish..

What is interesting is that "the People" know that the Rats have been name calling and showing visceral BDS hatred for years. One of the biggest problems that the Republicans had in the last election was the Hateful, Nasty, horrible Campaign ads, particularly in the Primaries. They also resented the number of Mail outs, and Phone calls they got in the last 6 weeks of the campaign. All the Pubbies have to do is show excerpts from the DBM as an example of just not BDS, but shilling for the Rats. If I led the RNC, they would run Ads just enough times not to tick off the voters, but to get their point across, but I would begin now, this is a Campaign that is well under way.

If possible, Biden is dumber than Kerry and has no chance at all of getting elected.

They're not worth the time of day.

"The "spork(s)..."

During the Vietnam War we had "hawks" and "doves", but no word to quickly refer to those playing politics who were commited to neither position.

So, during the Vietnam War years, while soldiers were dying, those what I now term "sporks" did nothing to either achieve victory or pull the troops out and avoid further deaths. They were more concerned about politics than the lives of the troops.

My definition of a "spork" (based on the eating utensil that is neither a full fork nor a full spoon, and usually (ironically) plastic) is a politician who won't commit to victory or vote to defund the war. Hillary and Brownback, for example are "sporks", while Lieberman and McCain (Forks?), and those who currently want to defund the war (Spoons?) are not.

SPORKS want it both ways, with the ability to change position as the situation in Iraq changes.

That deserved a barf alert. I cannot see (yikes) Biden shutting his radical anti American mouth long enough to even whisper sweet nothings. Now I have made myself sick to my stomach...

That's just what jon carry said - that when he voted for the war, the vote was just to send a message to frighten Saddam Hussein and that he (carry) never thought Bush would actually go to war.

Hillary doesn't have an original idea in her head. Maybe her next pronouncement will be that only the people who don't work hard and study get stuck in Iraq.

No kidding! What a truly moronic and sickening thing to say. This is supposed to endear voters to him??

I would love Governor "Scalded dog", however I am pragmatic, and even though we may like him, the rest of the Country would not, he is just not "GQ", or really generically likable.

OOOPSY, Fox just showed a clip of Hillary from today...and she got SCREECHY!!! lol

She keeps using the line that she have Pres. Bush the vote to go to war with our "allies", but he "let her down"...she is a LIAR!!

I wish she would be asked if the Brits, the Poles, the Aussies, and the Japaneses are our allies.

LOL...true....

Problem is, I thought it was common knowledge here. Rush spent a couple of days talking about it on his show and I have seen the comment posted in other threads. Sorry. It is a sickening mental picture.

Well...Mitt Romney certainly is a Washington "outsider"...but, one thing I like about Hunter, over Romney, (and this is just me)...

Hunter is more like Pres. Bush, in that he comes across as a real man, not a TV star..and Mitt comes across as "slick"...like a made-for-TV President.
