What I would like to hear is that Lieberman switches over to the Republican party.

RUDY - plain and simple.
Strength always endorses strength.

Joe is playing his hand for all it's worth and I'll give him credit for not running back to the rat fold after they tried to dump him.
I wouldn't want him as a Republican but I do like him in his role as quasi-'Independent' and as a thorn in the side of the traitors in the senate. At least we know where he stands on national security.
That's one more vote for us. There's no telling how important that may be in the future.

Yes, Joe has a good sense about a strong military, and fighting the WOT. Now, if he would get some good sense in regards to taxes, spending, gun control, abortion, prayer in school, and our border, then I'd belly up to the bar with him.

It would change the SENATE leadership. I wish he would at least be offered a good committee chairmanship to change and caucus w the Republicans

RINOs from state like Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Massachusetts are far better than the liberal Democrats now representing those states. They're useful for organizing the Senate and on various issues.
RINOs from conservative states such as Hagel, McCain, Brownback, and Graham need to be defeated in the primaries by more conservative candidates.

Yes, then the people would expect the Republicans to do something. But the Republicans would fail because of a few RINOs. When the Republicans had the Majority it was because of a few Rinos who would hold out and keep things from happening. Now there are DINOs in places like Southern Indiana, Kentucky, parts of Ohio and Virginia. Let the Demorats deal with the DINOs now. Remember the Dems had 100 hours to get r done. I don't think they will get much done. If they do get something done, I imagine that they will shoot them self in the foot. Anyway, we might be able to get control back in the next two years.
To get something done though, we have to convince Conservatives that the most important election is the primary. We need to run the RINOs off our Elephant Turf during the Primary Elections.

Brownback votes with us nearly all of the time, how is he a RINO? Besides, with the shift in Kansas politics, it's either him or a D.

Brownback has joined with Hagel and the Democrats in backing the resolution that opposes the surge of troops into Iraq.

Much better to have the Dems control the Senate, right? Some folks have a thinking deficit or they are so punitive - they are destructive.

Won't happen. A nice ploy for negotiations within the Democrat party, but he won't support the GOP any more than he ever seriously considered making that trip to the Oval Office to tell President Clinton, "Sir, for the good of the nation, it's time to go."
