It was the original L&O now on Fridays. I didn't watch it because I figured they would be biased but I heard they did okay this time.
I used to enjoy L&O, but then they started pushing an agenda. On one of the spinoffs (L&OSVU) they actually had our own white supremacists who had the WMD. At that point I switched to another channel.

They think a desire to shoot someone over taking a position taking in real life by a conservative pundit is a compelling dramatic premise. They think the stem cell debate is about curing parkinson's instead of being about whitewashing a million murders a year. It is hopeless, conservatives will never put up with their crap again.

Lets me get this straight.
As part of the liberal agenda that pervades Hollywood, the writers couldn't stop at one victim of a conservative who stands against stem cell research. The researcher, who is a victim of not enough research, had to shoot another liberal, so we could have double the victims because of a conservative.
Awesome.

Law and Order is a spokeman for the liberals. I disagree. In the early '90's when the show started, it was definitely a liberal fantasy show. In the past 5-6 years, it's undergone a transformation of sorts. Where Jack used to be an unabashed ex-hippie, he's now considered a pro-death penalty law-and-order guy. Also, with the addition of Fred Thompson, the show has definitely taken a conservative turn in at least the opinions of some of the characters. I started watching the show on TNT while recuperating from a pulmonary embolism in the hospital (4-6 hours a night every night). You could see the difference between the shows after 9/11 and before.

Last night's show was remarkably balanced. They made the Ann Coulter character a little smug and arrogant, but she still won the argument she had with the Ron Silver defense attorney character.
The show has shifted a bit to the right since 9/11. Fred Thompson is now the DA (instead of Diane Wiest), Ron Silver (a post 9/11 conservative) is often guest, and Jack McCoy has turned into a pro-death penalty advocate.

Charlotte Ross is no Ann Coulter er, I mean Ann Coulter is no Charlotte Ross in her cute little peta ad. She was also on later episodes of NYPD Blue.

Lancey, My wife, an L&O officonado, swears that the characters "play" their real selves: Fred Thompson plays a somewhat conservative, pro-life boss; Sam Waterson plays the ultra-lib prosecutor who nevertheless is committed to the law, Jesse Martin plays a total lib, Belzer a complete whacko, and Ice T a conservative. So it wouldn't surprise me if, in fact, Mr. Ice is a registered Republican. Heck, in NY or Hollywood, that's nearly a lib.

Yeah, that was a good twist. Look, folks, it's Hollywood. If we even get a FEW reasonable lines (such as Silver getting the guy to admit that embryonic stem cells haven't "cured" anything) it's a win.
The one that got me was a doctor who was delaying giving girls, I think, the "morning after" pills or delaying an abortion illegally---I forget the actual plot twist. In the end, Fred Thompson's character says, "I'm pro-life, but I'm also pro-law. Arrest him."

Did you ever see any of the West Wing shows a few seasons back, when Emily Proctor played an Ann Coulter type..

It was very fair..and I'd say, a surprising, and impassioned pro-life statement..

I started to watch it because I am a long standing law and order fan, but no more. This is the second week in a row they have really pissed me off, and obviously, they don't care. Well, neither do I, they can go to hell, with their ratings

Emily Proctor
Mmmmmmm. Southern belle charm, high heels, and guns. Sounds like heaven.
Khandi Alexander
Still a hottie, but she's got a queen of the undead thing going on there. Still, pretty enough to overlook such minor foibles.
I also thought the Latina cop was quite the looker. Pity they ditched her.

No I did not see it. I draw my opinion from viewing past programs.

I don't know, but it would be interesting to know.

I think Ice-T once said in TV Guide that, when he asked the producers of L&O: SVU how he should play his character, they said, "What would Ice-T be like if he were a cop?"
MutttheHoople: I loved your live version of "All The Young Dogs." : )
