Someone should ask Ann Coulter if she watched NBC's LAW & ORDER episode dealing with a conservative female who is obviously patterned after her... Did anyone else watch this episode?
This conservative female was speaking on a college campus against stem cell research. Then some left-wing student gets shot by a research student. The research student wanted to shoot her but he missed. The shooter suffers from Parkinson's disease...He blames her for putting pressure to stop the stem cell research...He wants the cure for his disease.
Ron Silver plays his lawyer...He manages to get the admission out of an witness, stating that stem cell research has a long way to go...No guarantee that it will work...Skepticism is expressed.
It was an interesting episode. I think it managed to be fair to both sides of political divide.
A character in the drama describes the conservative female as someone more outspoken than Ann Coulter...That was funny.
Sean Hannity was mentioned during the conversation between Ron Silver character and the Assistant DA...
The author said they were fair on both sides. I did not see it so I can only go for what is written. Did you see that episode. Do you have a different angle or agenda about this particular episode?
When they put words in the "worse than Ann Coulter" character's mouth, they used her style of biting wit, quickly spoken, and they had a few good throw-away lines, but it stood out to me big time that they didn't understand the conservatives' objections to the liberals' idiocies: the lines often came across as hollow.
L&O harbors no love for the conservatives. The producers go out of their way to make us look like idiots who are going to ruin America if not locked up and otherwise restrained.
The dominant theme that I saw in this episode was bitterness against the conservatives. But that's the usual theme. I watch the show anyway because I like the acting and the plots are often interesting.
WOW! Ann is looking HOT in that photo..
How about the one where some punk shot a judge, and someone asks how they will find the suspect, and one of the characters replies, "Look for a guy wearing a Tom Delay t-shirt!"
What did the former GOP Senator who stars on the show have to say?
Other than being spiritually suspect, the show Ghost Whisperer always seemed in its first season to be apolitical, with perhaps a leaning to the right that seemed to come from the fact that Jennifer Love Hewitt--a reputed Republican--produced it. Well, this season, they've tilted hard the other way. I don't know if it was the addition of ultraliberal Camryn Manheim or just the fact that the writers could no longer bottle up their hatreds. A couple of episodes ago, a character played by Jay Mohr asked Hewitt's character to explain the weird things surrounding her (she talks to ghosts), and she said, "You wouldn't understand." He went into a rant that included the phrase, "What I don't understand is how we let an idiot frat boy lead us into Iraq!" I'm sure that was completely necessary to anything in the show.
The following episode was a transparent take on the Terri Schiavo case. A guy was in a vegetative state, believed to have been put there by his wife, and she wanted to let him die, while the parents were fighting for his life. Conveniently, the guy's spirit could talk to the main character, and told him that he just wanted to die and for his parents to let him go. Oh, and the wife hadn't done anything--it was the mother who had given him the wrong medicine that put him in the vegetative state.
I'm almost done with the show. Another incident, and it's gone.
He's completely wishy-washy and does absolutely nothing to bring balance to the proceedings. Just to be clear, I'm talking about his role on Law and Order. It would be easy for the first statement to also apply to his handling of Chinagate.
Thompson should run for President, win and keep his role on L&O.
That would be nuts..and help the ratings.
He could lecture Jack McCoy on the need for more conservative judges and then appoint real conservatives to the Court.
What is utterly intellectually dishonest about the show is the actors spewing out the same old canned Liberal lines as fact, rather than one's Liberal personal belief. In doing so, they slam the audience as a bunch of dummies if they don't agree. Although few, I do remember the Conservative thought winning the day.
As was Rush Limbaugh when the Coulter character mentioned she had to leave her office because of "drinks with Rush"...
On the whole, I thought it was a pretty fair piece...at the end, when the defendant pulls one of Michael J. Fox's tricks of not taking his med's to make himself look bad in front of the jury, the jury didn't buy it...and found the guy guilty.
Interesting eh? I saw both episodes (although not all of law and order) and found it humorous that the station is mentioning Ann Coulter on those two shows -- both in the same week. What station are these shows on? I think that would be NBC. They attack conservatives on their news shows, both national and cable, and now in the "entertainment" shows. Shows what a bunch of sick and disturbed people run that place. Spitty and the olberidiot do nothing but partake of hate speech and lies, and they get face time on both national and cable stations. Maybe next week they will praise the olberidiot in one of their entertainment shows....its gotten ridiculous.
I'm waiting for the season finale where they mimic the fool Nifong and the whole DA staff winds up behind bars as we fade to black....
Don't be too hard on the CSIs. From a purely prurient point of view, they have some of the most wholesome hotties. I'd watch Miami with the sound down just to fantasize about Emily Proctor. Marg Helgenberg winds my watch too. You gotta get your erotic fantasies where you can find them. Mariska Hargitay used to be a favorite until they kept putting ignorant left wing comments in her mouth. I like my babes to have intelligence, even the fantasies.
I also watch a lot of Law & Order but there Liberal bent pisses me off sometimes.
Hey Guys, What's shakin?
Thanks for the PIC, for a moment I thought the rules had changed.
I watched part of it as I was thawing out from WRAMC. They seem to take their shots at Ann, making her appear a little to smug. Note the camera focusing in on the "Anncharater as the conviction is announced. Cheap shot.
Fred Thompson, the DA, is a real-life -former- Republican Senator. (correction)
