Words cannot even come close to expressing my disgust at these TRAITOROUS BASTARDS. I was in Iraq for 13 months and have many good reasons to feel this way.

The backstabbing Den of Rats are like the Islamonazis,,,, The meeting is necessary if only because the adherents of a the (new)movement feel lonely and are easily seized with the fear of being alone. Brought together they sense a greater community,,, They are carried away by the powerful effect of the suggestive intoxication and enthusiasm of the others. The crowd confirms the correctness of the new doctrine in his mind and removes doubt. He then succumbs to the magic seductive influence of the meeting.” Mein Kampf:717</p>

Being against military action outside of the United States IS cowardice.

I respectfully disagree. Just so you know where I stand, I myself am a military veteran and I wholeheartedly support the war against islamofascism. I'd like to see us crush the islamofascists with overwhelming military force, and boot every radical muslim out of our country.

I believe Ron Paul's vote is wrong, wrong, wrong, but I understand the libertarians' position on not utilizing our military outside the U.S. I don't agree with it, but I understand it. The end result is the same, in that he has failed to support our military, but he's not like the idiot liberals who refuse to acknowledge the threat and insist that we can "talk" to the dear little muslims and reason them out of their hatred. Paul just wants to fight them when they approach our soil, not in other countries.

Again, I'm not defending his vote, just disagreeing with the perception that he's a coward. His position is based on principle, however much you and I disagree with his reasoning.

A shameful day for our nation ...a descent into self hate and hate for the President (he can take it) but more tragically, a vote undermining the morale of our heroes.

I agree, and I should have known you wouldn't flame me. This day has been really depressing. I think I need to go home and watch a heroic movie--maybe Lord of the Rings--to make myself feel better. And tomorrow I'll pick up the standard and continue to fight alongside you.

Does this remind anyone else of how the dems treated our troops during Viet Nam? I feel like I'm reliving that nightmare.

Why does this matter. If it was a party line vote Bush would still have lost.

All this means is that the Democrats are traitors and need to be beaten in 08.

As far as the Republicans that voted with this goes, on Sunday night in primetime, the Conservatives should be running commercials calling all that voted for this traitors and showing their pictures with the caption:

(Name of Rep) is a traitor to the American people. Remember this in 2008. Paid for by the Citizens of the United States.

I couldn't understand why his Republican oppostion didn't use the theme that a vote for Chet Edwards, no matter how ''conservative'' he tried to paint himself, was a vote for San Francisco values. You are so right, this man is a weasel. Hard to believe that a non-border district in Texas would elect such a stooge.

Then, the President should issue a written Executive Finding of Rebuke against the members voting "to defund and demoralize our troops as well as embolden our enemies."

Wow! That is a great idea!!!!

Get this post to the White House!

Post of the week!

Thanks I was looking for this update. 17 GOP (actually only 16 because Rep Ron Paul can not be considered a cross-over vote on this).

This is a GOP victory. All the press were reporting 40-60 GOP defections. Sad that the politicians voted this way, but I think they're going to pay for it later.

I guess the voters last November were hoodwinked by the democRATs masquerading as Conservatives that they elected.

I truly understand that you're not defending him, but I don't see his principles as being any different than the leftists whose 'principles' cause them to wear flowers in their hair and want to make nice with the bad guys.

Both sides of the coin........the pacifist and the isolationist........are the result of naivte and a complete lack of understanding of the concept of evil.

We can't talk nice to the enemy, and we can't sit and wait for them to come here and kill us (which Paul should be smart enough to know that they already did), before we destroy them.

Either way, either side, their 'principles' leave us dead.

IMO, libertarians and liberals would hold hands with each other and walk this country into oblivion. Fortunately, the libertarians are politically impotent and can't do us as much harm tp America as they would like to. Unfortunately, the liberals can. But they are on the same side of the argument, both against military, and against standing for the security of the American people.

It's more than wrong. It's potentially deadly.

Now, you tell me how he isn't against the troops?

That's why I posted the link. To show he was against funding them.
