"Politics is about compromise. It is about give-and-take. Doesn't anyone here in Washington remember that chapter from their civics book? Division is what Washington has come to represent," Schwarzenegger said. " Reference NewsMax article; www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/2/26/131344.shtml?s=bl&promo_code=2E46-1

I'm curious as to who you'd like or at least find acceptable? I'm so fed up, I'd settle for anybody on the R side except McVain or Julie Ann.
Gray Davis is nationally known, thanks to Arnold. Davis is a poster child on how NOT to govern a state. He even makes our own home-grown fat, crooked sleezebag Ed Rendell look good. What is it with California, are you plumbing for the bottom?

Winning elections is what it's all about.More and more I get the feeling that '08 is going to be a bad year for us. If the split here on FR is any indication, I don't think that we can find a candidate that the base finds acceptable while still holding on to the states we won in '04.

I don't know. I see very little difference between Rudy and Arnie. Both are half liberal, half alligator, half man. Rudy cleaned up New York in eight years. Guess Arnie may have the edge on him, though. He cleaned out California in less than four.
This popularity contest is going to be a real nail biter.

Why not? If they can somehow figure out a way for Arnie to run then surely Soro's could run too. No?
How about Putin? Or maybe Chirac?
You can't leave them out either!

As a native Californian myself, I must admit, there's a tear in my beer that this guy can't run for President. Too bad. What are you doing drinking at 1:30 in the afternoon, son?

Right on! Mark Steyn rules!
And as for Arnie and his philosophy of compromise...compromise is the behavior of cowards. Compromise undermines principle. Personally, I'd rather see a principled guy in the white house than a compromiser any day. But then again, like most of the best of this country, principle has gone by the wayside in our infantile culture and all we have left in the public square are mealy-mouthed, duplicitous milquetoasts, Euriah Heeps in search of their own immortality. They all suck.

But Arnold CAN run for Senator, and he probably has it on the scope for 2010.
Which is why Barbara Boxer is lining up as much support as she can right now, for just that challenge.
Besides, "Uncle Teddy" will have slipped even further into senility by then, and somebody will have to be close to interpret his mumblings, to convert them into a reliable support for the wavering fortunes of the Senate Democrats.
