Viacom Once Again Displays its Anti-Christian Position The Timothy Plan Mutual Fund Group Condemns Upcoming Show
MAITLAND, Fl., Mar. 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- Comedy Central, a wholly- owned division of MTV Networks, whose parent company is New York based VIACOM, preparing to rebroadcast the Naughty hottie episode of the Sarah Silverman Program tonight at 10:30pm EST, http://www.worldnetdaily.com/staticarticles/article54607.html has drawn the ire of Americas Pro-Life/Pro- Family Mutual Fund Group the Timothy Plan.
To air, and rebroadcast a program, comedy or not, that depicts the main character having sex with God brings VIACOMs anti-Christian vitriol to an all time low, said Arthur Ally, president of the Timothy Plan.
Christians and culturally conservative Americans alike should be appalled by the sheer blatancy of this heresy, he continues.
Ally states that the Timothy Plan fund family, which began operations in April of 1994, exists to allow concerned investors to match their moral convictions with their investment decisions.
The Timothy Plan avoids investing in companies that profit from or support things like pornography, abortion, non-married lifestyles, anti-family entertainment, as well as companies involved in promoting issues contrary the teachings of the Bible.
VIACOM, brands, include BET, Famous Music, MTV Networks MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, CMT: Country Music Television, Spike TV, TV Land and more than 120 networks around the world - including Paramount Pictures and Paramount Home Entertainment.
Ally contends, Anyone with any semblance of basic Judeo Christian values should find this type of programming offensive, I would challenge them to consider divesting from VIACOM stock, whether they hold it directly or through a mutual fund investment, send a letter to the president of the company and explain why they are no longer going to profit from and support his organization.
An estimated 29,000 shareholders invest in one or more of the Timothy Plan funds. The fund has over ½ billion dollars under management.

Absolutely, many are appalled and put our money where our beliefs are!
You have a remote, so use it. You have a choice on where to invest, so exercise it. It's as simple as that.
Actually, it aired last night, right aftter an episode of South Park that was all about the "n" word. Comedy Central is definitely not the place to go for high-class, family-friendly entertainment.
This ping includes several people on last night's South Park thread who showed an interest in Silverman's show.
There are several other articles online about this. In keeping with FR tradition, I'm sure we'll see an individual thread on each one.
I have never seen Sarah Silverman but I did record her show from last night.
BTW, Christianity is not the only religion that recognizes God.
Silverman does this sort of thing to get exactly the sort of reaction that the Christian Network giving her. The 'I can't believe she's doing that' factor is a big part of her act.
Thanks, for the info.
You're welcome. :)
Ya beat me to it (troublemaker). :-)
No, but it is a place to go for creative cutting edge satire.
Take it to the ultimate step, TURN THE DAMN THING OFF AND READ A BOOK, LIKE THE BIBLE! Save money on cable costs and save brain cells and unwanted stress by paying for and watching crap that only going to piss you off! TURN OFF! TUNE OUT AND READ!!!!
I watched the show last nite.
It was HILARIOUS!
I laughed like crazy, it was funny.
Especially when she blew him off the next morning.
Which is what this article basically says -- a call to christians to not watch, and to not invest, in this program.
I was surprised how many of us watching South Park hung on to watch Sarah.
although I didn't really consider the black guy to be god, so it wasn't really sacriligious to me, I find her program offensive, needlessly so, and so I won't likely watch it again.
Except as I right this I'm watching it again. It's like being drawn to a train wreck. No, I'm turning it off now. Oh great, I've switched to "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert." See, no matter how bad something is, there's always something worse you can watch.
People who don't want to watch it don't have to watch, people who think the show shouldn't be broadcast don't have to invest in the stock. If enough people feel that way, unless you are willing to pay thousands of dollars to self-finance the program, you will NOT be allowed to watch it.
That's the free market for you.
Thanks for re-stating what the article states.
