So we’ll hit Al Sharpton with his Twana Brawley debacle.

Too late for that, I fear.

I suspect that his firing had nothing really to do with Sharpton or public outrage. In most cases the networks love the publicity. There is no such thing as BAD publicity and publicity equals higher ratings (hence The View)

The problem is the advertisers were deserting the show. The news today was that major corporations were taking away their sponsorship money. Lower revenue = bye bye Imus.

Right, that was Jesse Jackson’s remark.

Political correctness violated free speech. Yes, it did it through his employer, but the effect on all of is the same.

Does the privately-owned enterprise that pays him have a right to free speech? Should they be forced to lose advertising dollars and face boycotts in order to protect his free speech?

The 1st Amendment restricts government - it has absolutely nothing to do with this situation.

Good riddance to the senile old bugger. I never found him entertaining.

Now where will Hillary go to push her BS?

Yes, uncalled for. But in a free society, it is legal. Of course, MSNBC has the right to can him too.

Imus has crossed the line for years. The last episode was unforgivable. MSNBC only caved after advertisers started dropping off. This is the free market working.

I’ll never forget that. I had a loonie black man approach me in a parking lot and start screaming that I was a hymie right after that. He even tried to get my car door open. I was terrified and drove off and called the cops. I had no idea what he was talking about.

Heaven forbid Imus “offends” liberals. But the liberals offend God all the time with abortion, violence, drugs, and cursing.

Time for Imus to shut down his phony ranch and retire.

Back off from this stupid remark. I back off from nothing.

CBS and WFAN will follow suit by Friday, and Don Imus will be on XM Radio within 6 months.

What happened to Chris Matthews when he used the F word when refering to Bush’s ranch?

Not a dang thing. Its all depends on who you are bashing.
