Who knows? The decision was only announced
about a half hour ago...if they didn’t call him,
he surely must know by now...it’s all over the
news.

Nappy-headed thinkers won. I’m not surprised.

Are we conservatives too lazy to step up to the plate and contact advertisers & the affiliates that allow Rosie Odonnel spew her antiamerican garbage? This Imus thing is really the most important thing around?

If anyone really had a brain, they’d realize how much more damage was done to race relations by the race baiting “Nifonging” than this issue.

Now only 20 people will hear the show, down from 100 or so with MSNBC out of the picture.

The key passages:

1991: A Hasidic Jewish driver in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights section accidentally kills Gavin Cato, a 7-year-old black child, and antisemitic riots erupt. Sharpton races to pour gasoline on the fire. At Gavin’s funeral he rails against the “diamond merchants” — code for Jews — with “the blood of innocent babies” on their hands. He mobilizes hundreds of demonstrators to march through the Jewish neighborhood, chanting, “No justice, no peace.” A rabbinical student, Yankel Rosenbaum, is surrounded by a mob shouting “Kill the Jews!” and stabbed to death.

1995: When the United House of Prayer, a large black landlord in Harlem, raises the rent on Freddy’s Fashion Mart, Freddy’s white Jewish owner is forced to raise the rent on his subtenant, a black-owned music store. A landlord-tenant dispute ensues; Sharpton uses it to incite racial hatred. “We will not stand by,” he warns malignantly, “and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.” Sharpton’s National Action Network sets up picket lines; customers going into Freddy’s are spat on and cursed as “traitors” and “Uncle Toms.” Some protesters shout, “Burn down the Jew store!” and simulate striking a match. “We’re going to see that this cracker suffers,” says Sharpton’s colleague Morris Powell. On Dec. 8, one of the protesters bursts into Freddy’s, shoots four employees point-blank, then sets the store on fire. Seven employees die in the inferno.

I think if I were Imus I would shut the ranch down, sell the assets, travel the world and let Sharpton, Jackson, Obama, and the others with the vapors handle all the unfortunate kids.

Then we would see just where the hearts of the race-baiters really are.

I never watched the show, but this is ridiculous. Imus has done more to help the underprivileged in the past than Sharpton and his ilk will ever do.

As a fellow in the news business, would you please get some of them news folk to hold Rosie O'Donnell to the same standard - at least?

I think more than just a few of us would be more than just a little grateful...

XM satellite radio is in discussions with Imus as we speak.

I bet they give him a huge salary and announce free car radio installation for two year subscriptions to jump start it.

Just when I was worried about terrorists it turns out the “nappy headed hoes” are what we really should be worried about. I saw the clip, he said it in jest and though it was inappropriate we live in a culture of inappropriateness and much worse things go unpunished in the media. I think this is a travesty. We still have Rosie Oddonell saying the most hurtful things on TV and she is serious. She isn’t joking. She is saying without any factual basis that she believes the US manufactured the 9-11 attack. That in my opinion is much more serious than a stupid crude remark clearly intended to be comedic made by Imus but Rosie is right on the money in her commentary about the thought police because she knows her comments have been even more indefensible and hateful.

The real reason Imus is being fired is it is sending a message. Just wait till the next time a conservative host makes an insensitive comment. Just wait. Who would’ve thought Imus would be the one to fall? There is a bit of irony in that.

this reaction is more racist than IMUS’s comments.

it seems black racism has the MSM seal of approval.

Perhaps now Jessie Jackson’s show will now be simulcast on NBC as part of the sensitivity training.

It’s ok to call some one a nappy headed hoe (and worse)...as long as your black.

As long as my black what?

Al “Freddy Mart” Sharpton has won again. That is a very bad thing for America.

I’m also disgusted by the falling away of people like Howard Fineman (who was on Imus practically every day), out of sheer cowardice and hypocrisy. For God’s sake, it was a COMEDY show.

He was forced to resign a chairmanship — not his whole career. Anyway, Lott said nothing wrong. Imus did.

Political correctness violated free speech. Yes, it did it through his employer, but the effect on all of is the same.

He finally said something stupid enough to chase away his sponsors. There's NOTHING in the 1st amendment that protects people from consequences of stupid speech.
