Well, considering that Rush Limbaugh got fired from the sports show he was co-hosting a few years ago, it seems equitable to me.

Good point....it was ESPN wasn't it?

Well...that will reduce the number of his listeners by about 14.

One of the young women from Rutgers that he insulted suggested that they play tapes of the highlights of all the Rutgers games.

I thought that was a great suggestion, and a sensible penance.

Time for Imus to shut down his phony ranch and retire.

You're a putz. The guy may be a left-wing doofus, but he has raised over $100 million for children with cancer and other ailments.

I don’t like Imus. What he said was awful (like a lot of what he said over the years).

But I believe this was done to get all Imus’s high profile MSM guests off the hook. Now David Gregory, et al, no longer have to make a decision on if they go on Imus anymore. There is no Imus anymore.

PC run amok.

An optimist might say it is "good taste" run amok.

Imus should have been fired decades ago. But because he didn't rock the liberal boat, they put up with his obnoxious and insulting schtick. But he who lives by the insult, dies by the insult. He insulted the wrong people this time.

Words mean things. And sometimes words are mean. Imus was the king of mean words. I won't miss him.

Yep1 Last I heard, all but one of his major advertisers
had pulled out of his show, as of yesterday evening.

Something tells me the last one pulled out today.

I don’t care how it came about, your right to free speech was diminished today. And, those who feel empowered by their victory today, won’t stop here.

Were you listening the day he made these comments? If so, what was the context, why was he calling these young women "ho's?"

I am not a fan, but the double standard is appalling.

I don’t care for him either but then again, I only gave him a chance for about 5 minutes a few years ago :-)

You're simply wrong. The government can infringe on my right to free speech, but that isn't what happened here. Today an employer fired an employee who had become a liability. That's a perfectly legitimate action, no matter how melodramatic some may act.

It's so ironic that it's conservatives that are outraged by the degree of punishment meted out to Imus. He can't stand conservatives.

Great link BTW.
