Edwards 'embarrassed' by haircut

John Edwards said he’s embarrassed about his now famous $400 haircut.

Campaign finance records show that Edwards’ campaign paid a Beverly Hills stylist $400 for his haircuts. Those pricey snips have undercut Edwards’ image as a populist crusading for the little guy.

“It’s a ridiculous amount of money for a haircut,” Edwards told reporters after a campaign stop on Adel’s town square. “I’m actually embarrassed by it.

“This guy had to come to where I was to get a haircut. I knew it’d be expensive. I didn’t know it would be that expensive. Hopefully I’ll have enough sense not to do that again.”

Edwards rejected the notion that his haircuts don’t jibe with his campaign message...

He got TWO haircuts....$800.....billed to campaign PLUS $250 to "a trendy salon and spa" PLUS $225 to the Pink Sapphire, which "caters mostly to women."

Edwards is a high maintenance candidate.

He probably just gets the standard pedicure for men at The Pink Sapphire Spa - toenail polish might be a little much, even for a Silky Pony.

How could I forget his dad worked in a mill. That makes two $400 haircuts perfectly understandable.

It had to be the “timeless bride” package.

I wonder if he wears a hair net at night like George Clooney in “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Not a word about the PINK SAPPHIRE SALON!

Yeah. Those expensive haircuts might be embarrassing but going to a Pink Sapphire Spa is downright HUMILIATING. However, I bet Edwards doesn't think it unusual to go to such a spa for makeup treatments.

"I feel pretty! Oh so pretty!"

If this is how the other half lives, I don't want to be a part of it.

And, to the poster that said he would have gotten far more out of going to Joe's Chop and Clip.... That's spot on.

A gesture like that might have even made me think about voting for him, if I were in the barber shop and had a chance to yak with him. (shudder) Fortunately, I don't ever need to worry about that. Not too many $400 "stylists" at my barber's.

Yes, embarrassed he was outed. Now this coward, who dares not appear on Fox News, is spinning and spinning. Took him a while to come up with this unconvincing story.

....welll....I'll cut him a little slack here. All politicans (since Nixon in '60) put makeup on before hitting the TV, I'd imagine.

Doesn't mean that I think they're less manly for it. And, I think that I'd have chosen something more macho that the "Pink Sapphire". Maybe "Joe's Chainsaw Sharpening and Makeup Stop".

Re Pink Sapphire...
“I promise he’s not in here getting facials and cucumber peels on his eyes or anything,” she said. She’s an Edwards fan: “He’s fantastic. Great personality, very, very nice, down to earth.” She’s met Elizabeth Edwards, but hasn’t done her makeup.”

On another thread someone opined that the bikini wax was a bitch.

Hopefully I’ll have enough sense not to do that again.

LOL... Sounds just like that clip of Al Gore saying he'll have to inform himself.
