My father in law is being transferred to a different hospital after suffering a heart attack this morning. They are going to cathorize (term?? spelling??) him in a little while to see how much damage was done to his heart. Thankfully he is awake and alert.
He is a 74-year-old Italian immigrant who came to America more than 50 years ago. Both he and my mother in law became American citizens the real way; by taking the test then taking the oath. They proudly fly an American flag from their front door. As I said in a speech at my wedding, he came to America and saw nothing but opportunity, seizing it all in a dignified manner and making sure everyone was taken care of every step of the way.
He is a hard core conservative who believes in President Bush...not computer savvy, I always keep him updated about Free Republic...he still remembers the story of the soldier in Iraq scooping the media about the President's Thanksgiving Day trip to Iraq on Freep.

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the Sick, we turn to You in this time of illness. 0 dearest Comforter of the Troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in Your hands. We place our sick under Your care and humbly ask that You restore Your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that whatsoever You do, You do for the love of us.
