Howard Dean told Kansas Gov. Sebelius to Lie
Quinn & Rose Show ^ | 05/10/07 | Coffee260

Posted on 05/10/2007 11:53:51 AM PDT by coffee260

Dear Freepers,

Get a load of this:

I was listening to the Quinn & Rose show this morning on XM radio when Host, Jim Quinn told his audience that Howard Dean called Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius early, around 5 am, one morning after the tornado had destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with her what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.

He also said that she, Gov. Sebelius, called Senator Sam Brownback's office only to learn he wasn't there but then called him on his cell phone and reached him while he was in his car were she confessed to him that she had been instructed by her party leadership, (more specifically, Howard Dean) on how to politicize the tornado's destruction of Greensburg and attack the White House and the Iraq war for a seemingly slow response. She reassured the Senator that her allegations didn't blame him or Pat Roberts, also a Kansas Senator, for the lack of immediate response.

That would explain her public statements to the press that proved later to be untrue. She made statements to the effect that the Iraq war and the deployment of the national guard units to Iraq from her state has left Kansas without the equipment and man power needed to respond more quickly to the tornado's aftermath. This all turns out to be false and the governor herself has back tracked on her own claims.

Mr. Quinn also revealed that she confessed to Brownback that she couldn't pass up such an opportunity like this to attack the President whose approval ratings, in this hostile political climate, is so low.

These revelations are startling and if true should call into question the governors competence and her judgment. Quinn adamantly stressed that his source, who he didn't name because he was sure it would jeopardize his job, was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.

I heard this live this morning, but didn’t get to hear the last part. Thanks for the details.

This is outrageous.

Sean Hannity’s staff is trying to get Brownback on the show immediately, to confirm or refute this. Sean is naive if he thinks Brownback will jump into this scandal, whether he could confirm it or not. Brownback is not the type to get actively involved reagrdless of the issue, even the residents of his own state. Spin isn’t something prominent Republican Senators possess, as they have proven over the past six years.

How could a state as conservative as Kansas have blundered this bad? They elected a Communist governor.

If this is validated in any way, shape or form, Brownback's complicity in this will not only end his presidential campaign, it will most likely end his senate career, and rightly so.

This is a perfect example of why the 17th Amendment should have never passed, and needs to be repealed immediately. The democrat party's fingerprints all over this only confirm what we already know about them. Brownback's complicity, if proven, would have to be one of the most reprehensible, shameful and cowardly acts in American political history.

Here’s what else I got from the Hannity interview:

The governor said that she was told not to speak to the WH until she heard from Howard Dean and Dick. (The assumption is Dick Durbin)

Harry Reid’s name was mentioned in passing but no clarity was given on that.

I will make sure and post anything else I missed later

The FIRST thing Dean should have told the stupid lying incompetent female Governor - is that the Federal government will NOT send ANY help to a State until the GOVERNOR asks for it!

DUH!!!!!

Now then — this is TWO female Governors in a row - Louisiana and Kansas that didn’t realize THEY had the primary first responder responsibility to DO SOMETHING before bitching about President Bush’s lack of attention...or the war in Iraq.

NOTICE - that none of the MALE Governors hit by Katrina or other storms have been crying about lack of support from the FEDS.......just these two DEMOCRAT FEMALE GOVERNORS..

They need to STFU and grow a pair...

Ok, let’s review....

Dean calls Gov., Gov. attacks Iraq war. At the same time, Obama, Nagin style (we’re going to need tens of thousands of body bags) says thousands died during a speech where he played the Iraq war national guard domestic readiness meme, and at the same time, Congressional democrats (i.e. in a Senate committee hearing) start questioning the military about its budget re: availability of equipment and other resources as a result of Iraq.

Folks, this is clearly a planned attack. Once again our “friends” are exploting tragedy for political gain. Whether if it’s the number of dead soldiers or mother nature, they are willing to say and do anything to, in the words of Reid, “pick up seats.”

Democrats do not have any real plans or solutions. They do not offer any rational effective proposals. Instead, like vultures they sit above and wait for any misstep, and if necessary manufacture missteps. They deceive, distort, and even deny their own complicity (Iraq/WMDs), all in hopes of attaining power. The last thing America needs at this critical juncture are “leaders” who cannot and will not lead; who instead want power for personal gain.

I have a question.

Of the twelve people who tragically lost their lives because of the tornado, did the governors tactics interfere at all with true response to the aftermath?

In other words, would’ve one less life have been lost if the governor would have sprung to action instead of waited to hear from Dean and Dick?

I think somebody needs to answer that question.

Good point ... the LA gov played the same card. I suppose the dnc considers a female governor to be beyond questioning ... Anne Coulter proven right once again! (And Nagin is a faggot, so he/she/it fits the same unreproachable.)

Careful! I don’t believe it has anything to do with being a woman. I do, however, absolutely believe it everything to do with being a liberal. Liberals by their very nature have no...I repeat, No leadership skills what so ever.

“Sure, a liberal Democratic Governor is going to call up a conservative Republican Senator and ‘confess’ to an opportunistic attack against the leader of the senator’s party. Riiight.”

When I saw this, I immediately out the whole story in the trash bin.

You're right. Sebelius lied, while people died. The DNC was probably hoping even more would die so they could try pin it on Bush.

In other words, would’ve one less life have been lost if the governor would have sprung to action instead of waited to hear from Dean and Dick?

Probably not, but there is still some in Critical condition. I think your question is besides the point though. The point that is important if the allegations are true is that the Gov.,Dean, and Durbin put the lives of those in Greensburg, Kansas in jeapordy for the Democratic Party and their own benefit.

Governors never call their state senators. That’s right. Even when they know they just told a bold face lie to the whole country. Of course the story is bogus. Besides, what conservative in their right mind would give a liberal democrat their cell phone number anyway?

Oh, did I mention, the governor...never mind.

“I heard on the local radio yesterday a man blaming the federal government for not doing anything to shore up the levees and causing the floods in Missouri.”

I heard that too but the report went on to mention that the levees in question weren’t federal ones but local ones. The landowners were responsible for the upkeep.

I'm not sure. I remember staying up till after 1:00AM to find out what had happened in Greensburg. The local TV guys were saying that Greensburg had been hit pretty hard but it wasn't til the next day we found out the scope of the tragedy.

I hope that is not the case. I'm already fired up at her actions so far.
