Cacique, It is too bad you can not be honest in your post. You are not a recent immigrant. You have no insights regarding new immigrants vs older immigrants. You are strictly ANTI immigrant, legal or illegal. Don´t give us your phony “I am familiar with Latin Culture” routine. Not true. Your views of Catholicism in the Hispanic Community being nothing more than Marxism with a God does nothing but betray your bias and your xenophobia. It is very clear that only like minded people responded to you. Blather on, my friend. You are fooling no one.
BTTT and HOWDY Cacique!
Hey JD long time no see. How are things at your end?
Where is Sam Brownback on this issue????? He was a sponsor of the bad 2006 bill, so its not like he doesn’t pay attention to this issue.
He’s running for President and all the front-runners have made their views known.
So what’re you waiting for, Sam? C’mon and tell us your view.
bumping this puppy up
Only when it turns to revolution, otherwise it is about winning elections first and implementing policies/programs second.
Prayer is good.
But God helps those who help themselves.
The 2nd Amendment -- don't leave home without it!
wants to build the fence
wants to "make it impossible" for an illegal to find a job up here
BUT has a weak voting record on immigration issues and thinks detaining and repatriating the illegals who are already here is "unrealistic."
Won't get my vote.
Tancredo is the only one so far who looks like he might be willing to fight Congress hard. But I'm not even sure about that.
At this point, nobody no candidate inspires much confidence for me.
Given the available selection of potential leaders, I'm inclined to pin my hopes on armed and determined American citizens who understand what's at stake here.
“Two things happened in Spain in 1492. One was the trip by Cristobal Colon. The other was the final conquest of Andalus. The inquisition was organized mainly to reconvert all those souls who were under islam for 700 years. The result is that many of the conquistadores who came here were a generation away from being muslims. They brought with them a world view much closer to islam than the view of a sophisticated catholic from Italy. The concepts of machismo, guerra sin cuarto, Caudillismo etc. are elements from the islamic period that remained a part of spanish culture in Latin America. There are a lot of parallels between Latin American culture in it’s conservatism and what one would find in the middle east. This is something that needs to be kept in mind.”
Very astute observation! I am interested in the history of all the areas you mentioned yet never considered this. They are very, very parallel.
Here’s another parallel -
the concept of the Muslim Ummah - that all lands that were ever under Muslim control are forever Muslim - and the AZTLAN ideology.
Thank you for this brilliant post.
I have always despised Kennedy and this latest anti-American act makes him no more despicable than he has always been.
But Bush and the GOP "leadership" are another story. Their betrayal of my trust, my vote, my time and my money is unforgivable. There is now no way that the rift between them and this voter can ever be repaired.
Not astute at all. Fact is every latino knows this or at least they should. Also, conversions among hispanics to islam are also on the upswing.
With all due respect, Cacique -- these people in Congress don't care how we vote at this point. With exceptions in the minority, they are all on the same anti-American team now. Especially Bush. I've got to give credit where it's due. That traitor sure took me for a ride. Now it all makes sense. Every leftist measure he signed onto from CFR to the Rx benefit. The runaway spending he not only supported but encouraged. His almost total reluctance to ever exercise his veto against Congress. All of it now falls neatly into place. The man is simply an obvious traitor.
The republicans who voted for this don't care if democrats take their seats>
They are on the same team now.
They're no longer even trying to hide it. They not even pretending anymore.
But I've just got to hand it to them. They've turned in an excellent performance as republican impersonators. Fooled me completely. Or maybe I just fooled myself.
It’s going to be very interesting to see results on the next “job approval” pollings for Bush. He might break the record for most hated president.
BUMP for action.
Jim, can you boot this false French general ?
If I wanted to read about President Bush being called a traitor I could listen to Democrat traitors ... yuck.
Bump to 238 - it has contact link.
We have to keep contacting everybody in Washington. It has worked before.
Agreed.
But, turning the fire up under every GOP official in the country, at every level, can’t hurt.
