Did in the GOP? We already lost Congress. The Presidency is about personalities, not party.

I think it was a combination of things. Certainly there were personalities like the Mark Foley situation that the GOP should have thrown over the side far earlier.

So of it is demoographic too. It is late in the decade. Some GOP voters are in the growing state under represented.

Definitely #19 - All of the Above. And I don’t believe that #1 - the War, in and of itself, is the issue - it is how the GOP has chosen to fight the war - namby-pamby-PC war, with nearly ZERO PR at home - leaving the liberal lies regarding Iraq to be what most citizens hear about left unanswered.

After what happened this morning on amnesty? Hell, no. The GOP is going to lose and lose big, because it goddam well DESERVES to. The only problem is that when they fall, they’ll take the rest of us with them.

F__k ‘em.

11) Failure to abide by the constitution.

This one drives all of the others. Both major parties are in the grip of forces who want the Constitution done away with.

1-6, 10-16, time will tell on 17, 7-9 depending on who wins the primary. 20 is always a wild card (e.g., Mark Foley)

18 with the potential of 19 seems to fit the bill.

I hope with all my heart that 2008 will be a day of redemption...if not a long-struggle backup the hill of principle.

The democrats lack principle.

The republicans have principle, but fail to follow it.

One is curable, and the other is destruction. Pray that we find our way.

Failure to win the war of public opinion re: The War.

That's an impossible task as long as the MSM has the power and persuasion it does.

# The war.
# Failure to secure the borders.

# Gay marriage/gay agenda.

# Failure to protect private property.

# Lack of spine.
# Loss of testicles.
# Failure to run conservative candidates.
# Most of the above.

All of these reasons, which points to the glaring obvious.

The Republicans ahave completely lost touch with us, the base, the people who vote in primaries and care about those issues, they no longer listen to us.

When was the last time a Republican leader actually addressed us in any sort of meaningful way?

They, almost the whole of Republicans on the Hill, treat us like we are invisible.
