He also said he did not know "sheik Osama" meant bin Laden.

A doctor playing the "I'm a stupid idiot" card? Hmmmm. Not too credible.

His lawyer, Ed Wilford, said, "We are deeply disappointed in the verdict."

Yeah, me too. Should have carried a death sentence.

So this doctor participated in a ceremony where he pledged loyalty to a group that he didn’t know who they were, and to a guy whom he didn’t know who he was.

I always go to ceremonies and pledge loyalty to people who I have no idea about. It passes the time. Geez.

When the verdict was read, Sabir looked straight ahead. Later, as he was escorted from the courtroom, he waved to supporters, who said, "Stay strong."

You stay strong too a-hole - in prison!

Why are so many muslim doctors terrorists? Did they not take the Hippocratic oath?

The charges against the New York-born Sabir, including conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, carry a potential maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.

Well, well. Now we just need to have more trials, on similar charges.

218 for the House, 51 for the Senate.

Meanwhile the Democrat leaders in Washinton D.C. continues unabated in their relentless efforts to sabotage the War in Iraq, gutting the Military by chopping many critical project (ABM, Missile Defence, etc) while smiling into the TV cameras and pretending to 'Support our Troops'.

The verdict came after jurors heard audio tapes of a May 2005 ceremony in a Bronx apartment in which Sabir and his best friend, Tariq Shah, a martial arts expert and jazz musician, pledged loyalty to al-Qaida and, the government alleged, Osama bin Laden.

Fron the NY Daily News in 2005 :

...Kelley said [Tariq/Tarik] Shah - son of Lieutenant X, one of Malcolm X's top aides - even bragged to an undercover FBI agent and a federal informant that he could kill with prayer beads. ... ... Officials said Shah, who also went by the names Tarik Jenkins and Abu Musab, took steps to find a secret location in the New York area to house a terror training camp. "At one point, in the company of the [informant], Shah allegedly inspected a warehouse on Long Island to determine its suitability as a training facility," said the statement.

You "stay strong" too doctor.

And hang on tight to that bar of soap.
