Roll Call ^ | June 13, 2007 | John Stanton

Posted on 06/13/2007 9:43:46 AM PDT by 3AngelaD

Senate conservatives have been warned by Republican leaders that they must either accept a series of largely symbolic floor votes on a handful of amendments to the immigration reform legislation or see themselves shut out of the process altogether when the chamber resumes work on the bill later this year, GOP lawmakers and aides said Tuesday...

What makes a republican president be for making 20+ million insurgents practicing voting New democrats?..

When all is said and done, globalists don't care about parties.

Did these so called Republican leaders read the recently released Rasmussen poll showing that 77% of the country was against this Shamnesty bill.

SOMETHING, just is not right with what is going on between these so called leaders and those in the Senate.

Evil forces (MONEY) at work and we the people will suffer for that SOMETHING.

True... A question all candidates should be asked is ... Are you a globalist?..

Trent Lott along with Lindsay grahamCRACKER are playing career ending moves as politicians.

I will contribute to anyones campaign who runs against these bastardo’s.

You're right, they will lie. However, there are a number of ways to separate the globalists from the Americans. Their position this Bill is one of them. An American president would have secured our borders long ago.

It's imperative that we elect an American president on 2008. At this point, I see three possibilities; Hunter, Paul, and Tancredo. I'm leery of Thompson but I'll wait and see.

‘Not to favor Jeb’s wife, but try; “the globalists who got him the gig”, and then it all makes sense.’

How many millions of globalists are there? He won two elections with regular folks voting for him. Sure, he has a global perspective, but I don’t think for one minute that he could have won with the support of the working people of this country.

How many millions of globalists are there?

Not nearly that many. Only a couple thousand who are influential enough to steer an election.

He won two elections with regular folks voting for him.

Regular folks who get their "news and information" all from the same managed media.

Sure, he has a global perspective, but I don’t think for one minute that he could have won with the support of the working people of this country.

Exactly! He needed the support of the well-connected and highly influential globablists, as well.

You do understand, Preachin'! Very good!

I have often wondered why conservatives do not emulate the War Tax Resisters and set up both tax escrow accounts and tax penalty escrow accounts based on dissent with Congressional spending policies.

There is even a bill pending in the House (H.R. 2631, called the Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund)which would allow war protesters to direct the war appropriation portion of their taxes to other areas, but it appears to be based solely on religious objections to war, per se.

What percentage of our taxes goes to fund Congressional salaries/pensions/benefits? What percentage is already, by law, allocated for border security, but remains unappropriated/undisbursed? How many of us would it take to make IRS enforcement burdensome? A penalty escrow account would cover the penalties levied. If this sort of action was accompanied by direct action such as: affixing prominent, difficult to remove stickers to any building owned by employers of illegals/products of these employers that appear in stores, permanent paid pickets (just like the donks use) against any company that employs illegals or any retailer selling those products, sit ins and other civil disobedience against anyone facilitating illegals, including Congressional committee hearings (again: just as the donks do to get media attention), and whatever else anyone can think of to make it perfectly clear that we the people run America, not the corrupt politicians.

Couple this with a commitment to live as frugally as possible so as not to even owe any tax, legally, and we would perhaps be able to thwart the elites without resorting to other, more serious, direct action. I frankly doubt the resolve of most conservatives to even consider revolution of the armed sort and having lived under martial law in Milwaukee in 1968, I would also be afraid to engage with the Guard under those circumstances.

Otherwise, I fear that most of the venting on these threads is just that and will amount to nothing concrete, ever.

Don’t know about who answers, but a couple of weeks ago I got a call from the RNC from a very tired, old-sounding male. I let him know how I felt about border security and he tried to calm me down with how much they needed money to help elect Republicans who would defeat Democrats. That got me really angry, given the sandbagging of conservative R candidates here in Wisconsin and I launched. He weakly tried to continue his spiel. I told him that since he had called me asking for money, he could either hang up or listen to me. He silently stayed on line, I vented for about 3 minutes and he thanked me and hung up.

He sounded totally defeated, very tired and without a clue. As hard up as they are for donations (I round file my fundraising appeals; it isn't worth the energy to continue telling them what I think), I would think they are very hard up for volunteers of any sort.

Americans travel more to Mexico and Canada than to any other countries.

It reads to me as though they are counting everyone who crosses either border going either way. I know folks who routinely drive to Mexico every year for the entire winter. They count as 4 border crossings and perhaps more if they take a trip back to San Antonio for the holidays or their grandchildren's birthdays and return to their Mexican home. I know others who take 2-4 weeks a year and drive there and back. They count as 2 each for every crossing, there and back. This quote doesn't mean 500M illegals cross the border every year.

You’re speaking about legal back and forth. Remember, 60% are undocumented.

The RNC fired all of its phone solicitors and has farmed it all out to contractors who have nothing to do with the party. That was after their donations dropped by 50 percent. The poor old guy you talked to is just the hired help of the hired help.

I’ll vote for the candidate I agree with 80% of the time over the one I agree with 10% of the time every time. When the half-witted princess of evil Hillary takes office you’ll find out how great that “non-surprise” stab in the belly is.

What specifically in the previous post is (using your term) a “load of huey?” In the past year or two I’ve had fellow posters on FR tell me some of the following:

“Bush should have never supported and signed the tax cuts.

We can’t afford the tax rate cuts.

We would have been better off with Gore or Kerry as President.

James Webb is, or will be, a better Senator than George Allen.

George Bush only invaded Iraq and Afghanistan because of oil.

We shouldn’t allow the market to determine the price of oil or any of its refined products.

We shouldn’t develop oil shales or tar sands.

That free trade is bad and has destroyed the economy.”

Using your term again all of the above statements are a “load of huey” but I took them at face value and believe the posters making them actually believed what they posted. The trouble right now is that FR has a large group of posters acting like an out of control lynch mob. Some of them aren’t really interested in the truth and go out of their way to inflame passions without illuminating the situation. Jumping to conclusions about what I believe is another example of this.

If you had done a little research you would have found out that I am opposed to the current attempt to legalize the illegal aliens. I am also opposed to ANY path to citizenship for any alien EVER in this country illegally. I am opposed to dual citizenship, welfare for aliens, longterm health care, schooling, or social security benefits for aliens. I have no problem with allowing aliens to come in (temporarily) to pick strawberries and grapes but any employment with jobs “American’s just won’t do” should be done in their own country.

I was once a Conservative Reagan Democrat but outside of local elections there was never anyone in the democrat party I voted for in the general elections. As time has gone by fewer and fewer democrats agree with my beliefs and more of them if given the chance will do great harm to the country. You think I “just don’t get it?” Naw, I get it all fellow and I know eight, or even four, years of Hillary will be a hell of a lot worse than what we have now. Bill and Al were busing Mexicans to the polls to vote while they were in office and Hillary will do even more to insure there will be “plenty” of them to vote for her handpicked candidates. Wise up.
