Apparantly it was off coast and fairly deep. I have heard nothing of tsunami warnings.
So prayers no deaths!

Strong quake off Guatemala: US geology officials25 minutes ago
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck offshore Guatemala Wednesday, at a depth of 64 kilometers (40 miles) and some 115 kilometers (70 miles) from the capital, the US Geological Survey said.
The quake struck off the Pacific coast southwest of the capital Guatemala City, 135 kilometers (85 miles) west-southwest of Santa Ana, El Salvador and 155 kilometers (95 miles) south-southeast of Quezaltenango, Guatemala at 2:29 pm (19:29 GMT) according to the US agency.
The US National Weather Service said there is no threat of a large, damaging tsunami hitting Guatemala's coast or any other, "based on historical earthquake and tsunami data."
"However, earthquakes of this size sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coasts within a hundred kilometers (60 miles) of the epicenter.
"Authorities in the region of the epicenter should be aware of this possibility and take appropriate action," the service said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury in Guatemala, although the quake produced panic in the Salvadoran capital, San Salvador, where public employees and students abandoned buildings and took to the streets.
The reading was based on the Moment Magnitude scale, now used by US seismologists, which measures the area of the fault that ruptured and the total energy released.
A measurement of 6.0 or higher indicates a strong quake, while seven and above indicates a major quake.

Thank you for that update bd476.
Poor part of the world, don't suppose all the buildings are earthquake proof.
My son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter are visiting in Guatemala City. I would like to be on your ping list. Thanks.
