Climate Change: Reputable scientists now say the long-term threat to climate is severe cooling, not rising temperatures. In fact, our carbon emissions may just have prevented the next ice age.
Chicken Little may have to be measured for a winter coat, if the observations of R. Timothy Patterson, professor of geology and director of the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre of Canada's Carleton University, are accurate. Writing in Toronto's National Post, Patterson reported on his research that involved analysis of core samples of more than 5,000 years of mud recovered from the bottom of Western Canada's fjords.
In summary, his research showed "a direct correlation between variations in the brightness of the sun and earthly climate indicators (called proxies)." Patterson notes that hundreds of other studies using proxies from tree rings in Russia's Kola Peninsula to water levels of the Nile show exactly the same thing.

The Earth cooling signifigantly would be far more destructive to life as we know it than a warming globe. I’d rather see mass uncomfortability and the occasional extreme weather from warming than the mass extinctions and global starvation that would inevitably ensue from a cooled (signifigantly) globe.

Not only does he disagree with the UN but he also disagrees with Rolling Stone magazine! I saw one yesterday on a magazine stand and it’s cover is awash with how the Administrations is lying about global warming. I guess a responsible, intellectual and informative mag like Rolling Stone knows what’s REALLY going on, huh? It did give me a giggle.

I suspect some interesting ideas on how to hold back the ice would arise.

Shhh...don’t tell Heidi, the little weather gnome on The Weather Channel. She is a fervent believer in Gore’s Gospel.

I quit watching the Weather channel, but was a frequent viewer. They have lost my confidence now. If they are so far off on one aspect, who can trust their 5-day forecast?

There are more pregnancies on the Weather Channel set than in all the Section 8 projects in Philadelphia.
Do they put fertility drugs in the office water cooler there?

Yep, I no longer have the Weather Channel on. I used to have it on as background noise while I got ready for work. I loved the weather babes (does anyone else miss Jill Brown?). But, someone in their upper management jumped on the global warming express and they are sensationalist television instead of informative news.
It's sad, but there it is. When you politicize science, the chicken little effect takes over and no one can believe anything you say...even when you're telling the truth.
The internet has radar images and a 10 day forecast from at least three different sites...but I do miss the weather babes...Hey Weather Channel? The internet has that sort of eye candy, too!

What a classic Gore look! The look on his daughter’s face suggests she has heard his same old BS and here he is spouting it again. Love it.

Says Patterson, the Canadian geologist: "Solar scientists predict that, by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest Schwabe cycle of the past two centuries, likely leading to unusually cool conditions on earth. "Solar activity has overpowered any effect that CO2 has had before, and it most likely will again. If we're to have even a medium-sized solar minimum, we could be looking at a lot more bad effects than 'global warming' would have had."and in a perverse way, global warming zealots are counting on this solar minimum effect so they can say, "see? our efforts are working!"
