Moore Lies- Michael Moore Once Again Distorts Truth For Profit

The same man who despises Capitolism and America sure doesn’t mind making a profit off the American people by distorting the truth about our great Healthcare system and glorifying Fidel Castro’s horrific model for Hillary Clinton’s system of Socialized Healthcare.

Ask any Cuban who has recently left the island (because they can’t talk freely about this inside of Cuba) about their health care system and they will tell you that it is often a challenge just to get aspirin and they often have to get it on the black market. The run-down, dilapidated and unsanitary conditions in the facilities that the average Cuban must go to for care are a far cry from the hospitals and clinics reserved for high-ranking members of the communist party or the military. There are actually special facilities in Cuba that serve foreigners who can pay in foreign currency.

If the lauded Cuban healthcare system is so wonderful, perhaps someone can explain to me the following:

* Why some patients are taken to the hospital in wheelbarrows instead of ambulances? * Why patients must bring their own linens for the hospital bed and often, a fan, to combat the stifling heat and lack of air-conditioning? * Why cockroaches and other vermin are present in what is supposed to be “sanitary” health facilities? Why many common medicines are not available? If Cuba can export cutting-edge biotechnological products to other countries, surely the US embargo cannot be blamed for not allowing medicine to enter Cuba. * Why, in a 185-bed cancer center in Santiago where some 6,000 people are treated MONTHLY, there is a shortage of basics such as codeine, anti-nausea drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, antacids, laxatives, high blood pressure medicine, antihistamines, anti-depressants, contraceptives, vitamins and minerals? This particular hospital, sadly, is the norm, not the exception

The Canadian healthcare system, while not quite as bad as Cuba’s, is not what any American would want to experience. The basis for all socialized medicine (call it single payor or anything else) is delay and deny. It is not unusual for a Canadian, once diagnosed with cancer, to wait six months to see the oncologist.

That works really well for holding the costs down because once the patient waits six months, it is often too late to do anything for them. It’s basically a form of triage, without having to make the critical decision of who to treat, the delay tactic makes the decision for them.

Here is how “free” socialist medicine works (from first hand observation of my family in Slovakia).

Bride the doctor to see you. Go to the state run Pharmacy. They will not have the drugs you need. Go to black market to buy drugs (or ask American family to buy and send). Bride hospital to accept you. Bring own linens and towels and FOOD.

It is a great system. First you pay outrageous taxes to have your "free" medicine and then pay again to actually make it work.

As an irony. Dentists are not under the socialist medicine system. Dental work is inexpensive, quick and to American standards.

How can one man be so blatantly disingenuous? If there were any justice, Moore would be forced to get all his health care in Cuba.

Micheal Moore knows this. He is just an expert at propoganda and lies. He is a master at leading the HateAmerica conspiracy crowd and telling them exactly what they want to hear.
They believe every word of it and he gets very rich in the proccess.

You must be mistaken! I saw Moore on Larry King Live a few days back (I was changing channels!). King, to his credit, asked Moore about a NYT report about Canadians having to wait 17 weeks to see a specialist. Moore's response, and I quote: “Thats not true!” King then changed the subject-no explanation, no attempt to get Moore to explain his comment, nothing!

The Canadian health care system is like all socialized health care... sure everyone has care.. but you better not get crtically ill, or you can enjoy waiting for treatment.

I had a guy griping about the 30k bill for his wife when she was diagnosed with cancer.. she’s still alive because she immediately got in with an oncologist and was agressively treated. Had he lived in a socialized medicine state, true he would not have a 30k bill to pay, but most likely his wife would have died waiting for treatment... but don’t bother pointing that fact out to him....Sigh

Public Education continues to dumb down this nation.

I have been RVing in Canada for the last 3 weeks. The TV fair in RV parks is CBC or CBC and CTV. Last night they ran a story about a person in dire need of an MRI. The waiting list placed him/her (don’t recall the sex) out 10 to 12 months. In the mean time, a veterinarian said a dog needing an MRI to diagnose a possible illness would be taken in that afternoon.

He stated that the reason for the disparity was that Canada has a single payer (government) system and the vet could take private insurance or personal funding.

This was on state TV and I have not yet seen a day that the health system of Canada was not disparaged by the people of Canada and substantiated by the media.

The problem with oncological care is that, while the US has some of the most aggressive treatments available, many of them are not covered by insurance, and are very expensive.

When my sister-in-law was being treated for multiple myeloma, one drug that she was taking was $3000/month, and insurance didn’t cover it. It’s a good thing that they were well off, because that was just one of many medications. A poorer person would have died, after going bankrupt.

I know, we live near the Canadian border. Our hospital has a wonderful new heart care wing, thanks to all the patients that come down from Canada for by-pass treatment and other heart related issues.

There was an article on CanadaFreePress about the fact that veterinary care is better and more timely than Canada’s single payor system for people.

Howard Dean started a form of socialized medicine for Vermont, and it is just as bad, if not worse than the Canadian system. My sister-in-law waited nine months for a back operation, part of that was due to the wait for the MRI. In the mean time, they gave her morphine, and when she complained about the possiblility of addiction, they gave her oxy-contin and told her not to worry, they would take care of the addiction after she had the operation.

Fact is though, you get care... its expensive, but you get it. Socialized countries you can die waiting to see a specialist.... and this guy didn’t get the simplicity of it.

Yes he’s got a 30k bill to pay, but his wife is alive, had he lived in Britain or Canada, he’d have no debt, but his wife likely would have died. Waiting 6 to 18 months to get in to see an oncologist is a death sentence if you are diagnosed with any sort of agressive cancer.

Yeah, I know, we have the best system in the world. I just think about the fact that if many people probably wouldn’t be able to even get the $30,000 worth of credit to pay for the treatment.

I think if was that man’s wife, I’d be really annoyed at his complaining about the cost of the treatment.
