The old saw about ‘when trying to get yourself out of a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging’ is the first thing that comes to mind.

It’s very sad when posting such things no longers makes one automatically say “no they didn’t!”.

LOL!

This is sort of like Rush's pretend parodies. Watch out, the Dems may propose this tomorrow!

Simpler solution.

Move Congress to sea and let them debate aboard a scow.

The resulting hot air should do much to evaporate sea water and lower the levels.

Must be related to Sheila Jackson Lee; she of the hunt for flag on Mars fame. Or at least a relative of the geniuses who parked their cars below the tide level.

Making the oceans deeper would be extremely dangerous.

The increased pressure from the extra depth would exert extreme force to the earth's crust and cause it to cave in on itself.

or, they could make the land seem higher by building mountains...like that country in Europe where the Dutch live...Dutchland.

In Case We Can't Give Up the Cars -- Try 16 Trillion Mirrors (FR Thread on WSJ article, 22 Jun)

Here are some other great ideas of theirs.

I don't think any of the scientists really believe in any of these "modest proposals". It's simply a desperate attempt to draw attention and get the alarm level back up after their movement's recent loss of public credibility.

The idea is to keep pumping out insane ideas until their anti-capitalist "solutions" don't seem that bad compared to, say, blasting holes in the ocean or spraying sulfur in the stratosphere.

I know what you mean, sarcasm is pretty much dead. The writer of this article didn’t even include the word “diversity” in it.

Yeah, I actually bought it for a while, just because of that WSJ article I linked to in post #15, which was legitimate.

And that would extinguish all the world's volcanoes. Think of the massive loss of tourist dollars...

Perhaps if members of Congress listened more and spoke less the ice caps wouldn’t be melting and the oceans wouldn’t need to be deepened. < /sarcasm>
