It’s amazing when you look back at the 1900’s here in America, women had so many children. Just amazing. I understand that in Mexico the national average is 2 kids per woman, but guess what the average Mexican birthrate is when they come to America? 6.
The problem in this country is that people either have few or no children or children without fathers, etc.
We need illegal immigrants to keep our economy going because too few babies have been born in recent years.
I personally hope the Duggars have more children... even if all that does is make a leftist's head explode :)
The poetic justice in all this is that if good people like the Duggars keep having lots of kids (not everyone has 17, but 3-5 is still above replacement level), we will eventually breed out the pieces of human trash like the letter writer.

Overpoupulation is junk science from the 70’s. If you assume an average family size of 4 people, you could give every family in the world 1 acre to live on and only use up 2/3 or the land of the USA.
The left considers people like this family ‘breeders’. Frankly, I’m glad she and her husband have so many good kids. They, and the kids of other ‘breeders’ will eventually outlast the left because the left, with their enviro-wacko notions, aren’t having kids. For this reason, the left, for the most part, will eventually die out.

There is such anger on the left. They are so angry that they can’t even think straight. All 17 of these children, because they are homeschooled, will probably grow up to be TAXPAYING citizens. They will help to support this angry man in his old age via Social Security et al.

Somewhere between this article’s unbalanced view and your unbalanced response (in the title) there is a balanced perspective. Agreed that the 17th child is no less human than the 1st or should be discussed in any terms than those we would use to discuss any other human being. At the same time, every advanced society, including the Chinese, recognize the problems of overpopulation and folks modify their activities accordingly. Much of the hatred directed against Bush is a reaction to the fact that he, personally, is insensitive to the impacts of population growth in the US, the principal contributor to which is illegal immigration. So, I don’t think that this woman, and her husband, should be freed from expressions of opporbrium on their excess contributions to demands on land and public resources. I think your view that we need to run a competition between native and nonnative breeders to see who can increase the population most rapidly is a, I believe futile, recipe for disaster.
He is talking about the home too. I know I watched a program on these folks and they built that home over the course of several years. They built it! Not taxpayers and besides with a house that big...they’re paying their fair share.
