Anything that has already happened has a probability of one of happening.

Nonsense. There can be no “time travel”. It is impossible, so don’t waste your time and money trying to build a machine. One event causes another and the effect comes AFTER the cause. This is known as the principle of causality.
Never mind space-time, or warps, or bending space-time, or closed loops, or little donuts spinning or other nonsense.

Have you met us? Would you come back to tell us? Heck no, I say! Hmm.. You have a point. On the other hand, apparently Hillary loses the election in 2008, or surely some brave Conservative would come back and.....
Oh God! What if she WON and executed all of the scientists just so no one could come back and warn us?!?!

This will have to wait. I'm still working on the Infinite Improbability Drive. Right now, it's about 50/50.

There can be no time travel. That's not entirely accurate. Travel FORWARD in time is possible, and it happens on a small scale every day. Years ago, tests were performed with atomic clocks. Some were on the ground, and some were in airplanes. The clocks in the airplanes, moving at a relatively high speed, GAINED fractional seconds compared to the clocks on the ground. Thus the clocks in the airplanes (and the people in the airplanes) traveled FORWARD in time.

What ever happened to research on the perpetual motion machine? Oh wait! That funding is in the Democrat's new energy bill.
But if someone could invent a time machine, it would be found in some Florida Democrat's car trunk on election day, or the day before.

We already know how to do this. Aim the Enterprise at the Sun at Warp 9 and use the slingshot effect.

"it can't be used to travel to a time before the time machine was constructed.""Is it working now?"
"I dunno yet."
"Is it working now?"
"I dunno yet."
"Is it working now?"
"I dunno yet - Wait! Did you say 'Is it working now?' before now?
"When?"
"Before now."
"I wasn't saying anything now."
"Yes you are."
"But when you said now I was saying anything."
"You said, Is it working?"
"Yes, 'Is it working now?'"
"I dunno yet..."
