Hillary Clinton remained calm and collected in public during her husband’s sex scandal...

...but she pounded the snot out of *Squirt with ashtrays. Didn't *Bubba get punished so badly, *he had to say *he ran into a door frame?

IMHO

They don’t sound very Christian at all. As for Hillary, her “faith” is as phony as her southern accent. She doesn’t believe in any higher power other than herself.

Everytime I hear the word “progressive” used in the context of liberals it makes me want to spit. What is progressive about higher taxes, abortion, gun control and cheerleading for homosexuals?

What a disappointing article.
When I first read the title I thought we were going hear from the mythical fiscally liberal, but socially conservative Christians. In theory these folks can exist -- but since they often end up exalting Government as their new god, I've treated them as theoretical possibilities but not as actual real people. Socially 'liberal' Christians are an oxymoron -- but I think that's the people we're talking about in this article as 'progressive alleged christians'...
When I read the following quotes - I realized these weren't the rare (and perhaps mythical) fiscally liberal socially conservative Christians that I was hunting:

Garrison said her progressive evangelical and secular friends are “very disgusted” with Clinton, feeling she is too moderate and has compromised too much with conservatives. And when it comes to faith, Garrison added, her friends tend to admire second-place candidate Barack Obama (D-Ill.) instead.

“I think now is the time for her to be genuine and sincere about it,” she said. “Barack Obama -- his faith strikes you as being genuine. That’s what he is.”

er...If the 'I never met an abortion I didn't like' Barack Obama are these 'progressives' 'standard' of someone of 'faith' -- these folks are in for some sad surprises come Judgment Day. God will not be mocked. You cannot embrace abortion with the near glee that Mr. Obama has done and deserve any respect as a 'man of faith'. Also haven't these folks read the website of the 'church' which Mr. Obama is a member (tucc.org - I believe)? Its an anathema to God's Word. A separatist 'club' that exults blackness and Africa over Jesus and fellow Christians (regardless of their color)...So the net of this article is that they are lukewarm to Mrs. Bill Clinton because she isn't as overtly anti-God as is Mr. Obama.

Yes, I guess I'm now up to speed regarding the definition of a 'progressive christian'...(a.k.a. 'Non-Christian').

...for which critics accused her of affecting a Southern drawl.

This is not just an accusation. It is well documented on videotape.

I think it would be more entertaining to see her act hip-hop to pander to a young, black audience, perhaps in blackface. She's a leftist, she can get away with it.

I remember when Howard Dean was campaigning last election and telling everyone he was a man of faith. When asked what his favorite book of the New Testament was he said the book of Job. That’s a classic example of liberal devotion.

“She could win some Evangelical Christian Vote”..Oh you mean those same Christians she once demnized as ‘part of the Vast-Right-Wing Conspiricy’,..Those same Christians..

The ones that her and her allies try to disrupt their dearly heald belifs in both government and pop-culture..

The same Christians the (media) dispises..

(Never Listend to the Conventional Wisdom: It’s rarely correct!!..)

Those same Christians AREN’T Stupid, even if they are foolish sometimes, they have about as much chance voting for Hillary Clinton, as liberal democratic athiests have voting for a Republican Presidential Nominee!

It's difficult to keep religion out of politics. And just as difficult to keep politics out of religion. And who is to say they should be kept separate in the first place?

This looks like a good a place as any to post this link. I think it's a perspective that should be examined when judging the religion -- or the lack of it -- of any candidate:
