Tom Lantos, of all people, knows first hand what it’s like to be liberated. He’s a Holocaust survivor, for God’s sake. He’s lived under a murderous bunch of thugs, and should be one of the members of Congress supporting this Iraqi action and war on terrorism no matter how long it takes or what it takes. He’s slandering the same military that saved his ungrateful rear end.

I think the dems are basically screwed now.
They undermined our troops, democracy, emboldened terrorists and stood on the wrong side of history.
Today has sealed their fate.
Most Americans will trust Petraeus.
I would give Americans a little more credit than that. Talk radio, FOX News and conservative web sites flourish precisely because there is a market for them. The Academy, the media, and popular culture are still dominated by leftists, to a significant degree because socialist leaders made it their goal beginning in the 1960's to undertake a "long march through the institutions", an effort in which they largely succeeded. Now we (traditionalists and conservatives) are fighting back by offering facts, context, and history that many people would otherwise not be exposed to, and the powers-that-be do not like it one bit.
