Hi John,
When Don Imus bit the dust, I did a post on Free Republic which asked rhetorically whether Imus' downfall was a Hillary hit job. Most folks doubted my theory, because the issue came to be defined by race AND because Imus was not necessarily a conservative. But Imus WAS a Hillary critic, and a harsh one at that, with a huge megaphone. It wasn't too far-fetched to see him supporting Obama, and later Rudy over Hillary. When I learned that Media Matters had fanned the flames that led to Imus' downfall, Hillary immediately came to mind, although the connection was murky. However, the airing of the new video in which Hillary TOOK CREDIT for establishing Media Matters puts the connection into clearer focus. Any prominent radio or TV personality who MIGHT be a problem for Hillary down the road has been targeted for preemptive strikes. Imus was just the first.

Definitely deserves a bump!
Exactly why Rush opposed CBS’s treatment of Imus.
You were not alone, my friend. We figured it out on the Daily Talk Show Thread also.
Both Tim Russert and David Gregory practically begged Imus to have her on the show shortly before the incident and he absolutely refused, calling her Satan. I suspected he was doomed at the time. I just didn’t know how they would pull it off.
but how many “small fry” hosts will hold back because of this now?
Mancow was on FNC recalling how clinton operatives were using mafioso tactics to threaten him and his family to not say bad things about clinton when the DNC convention was in town.
He said it was secret service thugs.
“not say bad things about clinton when the DNC convention was in town.”
Hmmmmmmm. Dynachrome should not be surprised to get a visit then.
I can still remember the look on her face during the Imus speech at the Radio and Television Correspondents Association dinner in Washington on March 21, 1996. If you didn't see it when it was on C-Span, here's a link to the transcript. He takes pot-shots at both the Dems and Republicans.
Here's his opening comments. It gets better as it goes along:
"Thank you very much ...um... this is kind of interesting, these don't appear to be my notes....(you still have the folder I gave you? where did this come from? Well, nobody just leaves stuff like this just layin' around...."
"Heh, heh, heh .. let me see if I can see what it says: 'S. McDougall called again ...says bank needs check and statement; told her both were in mail, ha ha ha. Jesus, she looks stupid in those tank tops.' I think I'll just hang on to these..."
Was this recently he was on or back a few years ago?
Good one...
Except... they are not quite getting away with it.
they got away with it with Imus because it was a pretty nasty thing to say about the girls basketball team, but not with o’reilly and rush because it was just FALSE!
I think Imus was a hit job by the Hillary.
LOL. I remember that Imus speech well.
But his program gave an outlet to all of her minions, so he would have been allowed to stay had he bowed down to her.
I've never cared for Imus, figuring he's a lousy Liberal.
But this is priceless!!! Is it on YouTube anywhere???
I agree, for the most part. The Imus affair was a velvet glove job. The power politics at play by the Clinton folks was camouflaged by the racial and cultural issues that surfaced. Hillary got rid of a big adversary with no political blowback. This time however, the politics are closer to the surface, and harder to slink away from.
Just ask Melanie Morgan how that bunch of “MediaMatters” jerks went after her and Brian Sussman on KSFO in SFO!!!
I concluded fairly readily it was Hillary connected.
1. It fits her modus operendi for smear like a glove.
2. She’s been in bed with George Soros and Reverend Al since she became Senator.
3. Don Imus is most likely a democrat and Nappy Headed Ho’s is not racsist when uttered by a democrat.
4. Al Sharpton (a democrat) went after a democrat claiming racsism for no apparent reason (after all those years of Imus doing so repeatedly) and there is no apparent monetary benefit for the topple.
5. Since it was not race related, it must have been for political revenge, which we were all aware of in the first place.
I don't know. Wish it was.
...and there are PEOPLE out there in America that will be voting AGAIN for another KLINTON!!!!
Please tell me WHY??????
