(Morris County - WABC, October 16, 2007) - There is a bit of outrage over a Halloween display in New Jersey.
This year's elaborate display at the Madison home of David and Cheryl Maines was no different than in year's past. But because of recent events surrounding hateful symbols of nooses, public outcry has caused the creators to yank the decorations altogether.

It happened in my neighborhood in Charlotte, NC when I lived there two years ago. The hanging body was the bad guy from the “Scream” move I think...
If you can not understand that a noose is offensive to African Americans, then either you are very young or have a very limited life experience.
The article makes it sound like this reaction was reasonable. It wasn’t.
The whole neighborhood should have gotten together and hung up more and more of them............
I’ve decided not to press my luck and offend anyone this year so, instead of hanging my dummy, I’m going to strap him to a gurney and give him a lethal injection. The problem is that it doesn’t pack much punch in the fright department because it just looks like a guy getting an IV.

Actually when I first saw it I thought it was an effigy of a black person being hung.(reminded me of those old photos from the south of lynched blacks hanging from trees)
So how long will it be before crosses are deemed offensive and churches are forced to remove them?
If one considers that most of the 300 or so negro lynchings that occurred from the civil war on were performed by shooting or beating to death, you’d think displays of shotguns or clubs would be offensive.
And if you can't understand that such halloween decorations have been displayed for the past 50 or more years without a peep from the politically correct such as yourself, and the fact that the Confederate flag has been virtually ignored for the past 100 years or so until your politically correct breathren decided they didn't have anything to be pissed off at until a few years ago and decided to go after the flag.......

A noose is also offensive to pirates, mutineers, and cattle rustlers... what of it? There is nothing intrinsically “racist” about a noose.
The big Malcolm X “X” that is all over hats and T-shirts is offensive to most whites. Don’t see them whining and getting their way.
