EMAILS FROM ALGORE.ORG:
Word from Al Gore's Office: Stop Ballot initiatives Mon Nov 12, 2007 at 09:25:38 PM PST
It is painful for me to write these words, I just got this letter from Karen Wunderman Chief of Staff at AlGore.org
Dear AFG Steering Committee Members:
We have received a communication from a member of Al Gores staff discouraging our efforts to put Al Gores name on any primary ballots.
This includes California, New York, Massachusetts, and the write-in effort in New Hampshire, as well as any other states that are working to get him on the ballot. Accordingly, effective immediately, we are recommending that all groups cease their signature collection and related fund-raising activities.

Some of you may wonder about the discrepancy between this message and the one sent out last week.
We have attempted to bring you information as we receive it, and only information that is credible, and last weeks information came from credible sources, but not sources from within Gores office. Unfortunately, todays communication comes from Gores staff and trumps the information we received last week.
Were all reeling and in a bit of a state of shock, and our main objective right now is to get people to stop working for something weve been discouraged from pursuing.
Beyond that, we recognize that for many this will feel like getting hit by a Mack truck. Its impossible to convey the deep disappointment we all feel, but weve been to hell and back again with this, and just as we hung together in the past, well grieve together and get support from the community we built.
Regardless of how we attempt to deal with this blow, we should at least now be able to turn our attention back to family, friends, and jobs that have been neglected over these long months of hard work.
We built a community of support and supporters, and I believe our lives were enriched for having known each other and worked together for this cause we believe in so strongly. Many of us have formed permanent bonds with people in this movement that transcend the political ideology that brought us together in the first place. These are ties that will last a lifetime.
Well be putting out more communications in the days ahead, but for now we felt it was urgent to get this information out to people so they wouldnt put any more time or money into the effort.
I hope we can turn our grief and disappointment into something more positive and productive in the future.
There are no words to express our sorrow at having to deliver this news, but Im afraid it is real, and the request needs to be heeded.
With deepest regrets,
--Karen

Stumbled across this on DAILY KOS. Read the comments, they really are funnier than he**!
You know, I probably would have remembered that if it weren’t two in the mornin’...
A very legitimate reason!
I loved the You Tube link to “Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey-hey, good-bye”!
LOL. Too bad, it would have been such fun to watch the Goreacle and Shrillery go at each other for a few months!!
Why in the world would Gore want to place his Sainthood at risk. He has got the perfect liberal gig: permanent victimhood via Election 2000, every conceivable liberal award, adulation, portrayed importance and best of all - he doesn’t have to live up to the very initiatives he champions (jet, electric bill, gas bill etc.)
Yeah. Gore is making a lot of money with his scam. Why would he want to change.
I wonder what happens to these folk's feelings when their pet goldfish dies?
Ask yourself this point about the future...if Al doesn’t run, and Hillery wins the election next November...how much effort is Hillary going to put into global warming?
Answer...little if any. She won’t have any budget left after her special agenda items...to run any global warming programs so Al Gore is left to the wind...with no real support from his environmental groupies. The whole agenda of Al’s...goes down the drain within a year or two.
This might be the only positive of having Hillary in office for four years and just ending this entire environmentalist effort.
Gore understands better then anyone how the Fix is in for Hillary. Nothing is served by ramming your head into a brick wall. Al lives to fight another day.
I personally wonder why anyone would think that his not wanting to be in any of the -primaries- means that he isn’t planning on running as an independent/green in the general election.
Which would be teh awesomest, of course. Gore splitting the dem vote with Hillary would mean Republicans could put up Larry Craig and win (not that there’d be anything wrong with that...).
Qwinn
thanks for looking where I refuse to tread! LOL
quite true....
Actually, mine was posted FIRST at 2 AM
Plus Gore does not want to risk getting beaten soundly by a Republican in a no hope effort to try to get into the White House.
They should do write in votes during the main election, HE COULD MAYBE WIN!!!!
