There's an old expression about war: "Victory has many fathers, while defeat is an orphan." But in the case of Iraq, it seems the other way around. We've blamed many for the ordeal of the last four years, but it is the American victory in Anbar province that now seems without parents.
Over the last few months, the U.S. military forced Sunni insurgents in Anbar to quit fighting. This enemy, in the heart of the so-called Sunni Triangle, had been responsible for most American casualties in the war and was the main cause of unrest in Iraq. Even more unexpectedly, some of the defeated tribes then joined in an alliance of convenience with their American victors to chase al-Qaida from Iraq's major cities.

Wow, how true. For the MSM, defeat has many fathers, while victory is an orphan. Truly a sad commentary on our media.
Same with the Cold war. You'll be hard pressed to find a liberal journalist who will give Reagan some credit for the fall of the Soviet Union.

Of course, the John Podestas of the world continue braying that positive results are still lacking any political conciliation. Tranquility is at cost of ethnic cleansing.
They will soon turn the story into how ‘W” and the right wing in the US promotes global ethnic cleansing.

Sad commentary on the media, yes. But now we are seeing them for who they really are and that’s a good thing.
It only seems that way because you still think the MSM is on our side. When you realize that they're actually pulling for our enemies, it still holds true.

Be patient, and take some assurance in believing that a day of reckoning is coming. This is not quite the proper time for a victory celebration. The domestic political and economic progress in Iraq remains shaky, IMO, and any setbacks or failures in that part of the picture, however slight or temporary in nature, will be siezed upon by the DimRats and their MSM allies as evidence of overall failure and premature proclamation of “Mission Accomplished.”
If and when there is another Al Queda attack on America, I will be satisfied to see the American media completely destroyed, they will be swept away in a civil war of retribution for their traitorous behavior over the last 50 years. We fought communism in many parts of the world and we will, finally, fight them here. Send them to hell then throw the rest of them into prison or out of America.

We sit in the midst of victory, of the biggest story of the year and we see stuff about O.J. and Britney.
Back when all hell was breaking loose (I love saying that in the past tense), we got sick of hearing about Iraq on the news.
Now, we never, ever see it mentioned.
But we're right here. Peace is settling upon this land and the news won't even whisper about that.
The pathetic, agenda-driven, sour-grapes-eating media is trying to BURY the victory.
