Have a look at the screencap. It's Mika Brzezinski scrolling what looks to be her Blackberry as she reads a hostile question to Fran Townsend, President Bush's top White House adviser on terrorism and homeland security.
Townsend, who has announced that she's stepping down after four years in the Bush administration, appeared on today's "Morning Joe." After some conversation with Willie Geist, Mika Brzezinski took over, peppering Townsend with a series of challenging questions on everything from the failure to capture Bin Laden to waterboarding.
Mika appeared to have Blackberry in hand throughout. When it came to her last, and nastiest, question, she was busily scrolling through it as she read off its screen.

How freaking rude is *that*? I’da cut out of the interview as soon as she pulled out a fricking Blackberry (of course, no one wants to interview me so that point is moot).

Mika doesn’t have the brains to think of her own nasty questions. She had to have them fed to her.
Townsend, if she knew what was going on, should have immediately ended the interview. The Fourth Amendment provides us with the right to face our accuser - Townsend has the same right.
So we can rule out the writers for the show, since they are on strike. Unless, it was a writer then we have a SCAB! story?
That’s only in a court of law, but I’m assuming you knew that.
If it were me, as soon as I notice she’s looking at her BlackBerry, for the next answer, I’d look down at my own BB and say, “excuse me, I’m just looking for the answer on my BlackBerry”.

Update | 10:48 AM ET — Mystery Solved: Morning Joe Executive Producer Chris Licht has emailed me to say: “Mika was reading research emailed from a segment producer to her Blackberry: specifically, the Bloomberg News article re: Townsend says election is potential terrorism target.”
Interesting...still annoying but interesting.
One thing this video proves....women over a certain age should not show early morning cleavage. Someone should tell Mika she’s over the limit.
