Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

Posted on 11/25/2007 5:29:03 PM PST by cradle of freedom

I would like to know if you are going to vote in the November 2008 election even if your candidate does not win. Will you stay home if you don't like the Republican candidate?

Another thing that I have often wondered about is whether people actually stay home when they are disheartened. News commentators often say that some voters may have decided to stay home because they were not happy with the candidates. I think that is a mistake because even if you do not like the person at the top of the ticket you should at least vote for the other candidates. Have you every actually stayed home and not gone to the polls at all because you were not happy with a candidate?

Really? No Zell Miller? He spoke at the RNC and he did a fine job.

Thank you. I just can’t get over people who are too self-righteous to vote for the opposition to Hillary.

Imagine all the horror that will ensue if she becomes president. Will it really be satisfying to sit back in your Laz-E-Boy and proclaim “ I know that America has gone to hell, but I have my principles!”

If it leads to another 1994 and the Contract with America then its a good thing. Those who think you must vote for a specific party no matter who the nominee is, must be satisfied with the statis quo, and don’t want any change.

I have never stayed home for any reason, but we are the passionate voters. The ones who stay home are the ones who aren’t that passionate about politics.

That being said, I would vote for all but Rudy. If he is nominated, it will be tough for me, especially if a third party pro-life candidate is out there. That being said, it would also be hard for me not to vote against Hillary or Obama and vote for Rudy by default.

As opposed to his comment that he would appoint strict constructionists, like Roberts and Scalia.

Look support whomever you wish. If you don’t like who the party nominee is, take a long hard look at Clinton and ask yourself if by default you’d be voting for her.

"Rudy VS Hillary will lose Ohio by 700 thousand votes."

Not to mention LOSE PA and WV as well. If it's Rudy vs Hillary, the Republicans should save their $ and not bother to spend anything in those 3 states, as it will all be wasted.

I agree with everything you said right down to where you get to “Ron Paul is one of the few candidates...” I’m not convinced that Paul isn’t just another shill for the elites, and I could never vote for him anymore than I would cast a vote for Rudy or Hillary. You should take a more careful look at the people who are pushing Ron Paul - I suspect that Soros et.al. would be just as pleased with him as the Republican nominee as they will be with Rudy. If he isn’t their shill, he is foolish enough to allow himself to be used by them IMO.

Great analysis!!!

Not only would Rudy lose to Hillary he would do great damage to the Republican Party at the local, city, and state level too.

As the Rudy Apologists keep telling us in the conservative base that we are not needed (and in some cases told 'to take a hike')--as we can easily be replaced by independents and liberals would vote for Giuliani for security reasons.

With many in the conservative base either voting third party (with some not even voting in a LIBERAL RUNOFF election) who the heck do the Rudy Apologists think those independents and liberals will vote for locally, and on the state, and even senate level??? (Hint: It's NOT going to be the conservative candidates)

Conservative candidates at ALL levels would pay a huge price for the nomination of a LIBERAL like Giuliani. Rudy would be a disaster in SO MANY WAYS to the Republican Party!!

Good grief .. you are so far off track in your reply to me .. I really don’t believe you read any of my previous statements.

Remember .. sometimes it helps to find out what people are talking about if you back track to their previous messages.

Obviously, you didn’t understand that my statement was about ZELL MILLER - and as far as I know Zell has not made any statements about appointing anybody.

Clearly we are not on the same wavelength.

You will not say any supportive word of any Democrat. You don’t have to be a Democrat to work with any of them.

Reagan originally was a Democrat. You have an issue with him? Because I will tell you as someone who started on the left and became a liberty minded Republican that if you take a purity test, the people you’d like to pass may not. A big part of the reason so many people departed from the left is that the mantra of the left is that we are free to do as we are told.

Lee Atwater built a big tent. I am pro life but I am not going to axe the party because I am a single issue voter. If you think about it, we are talking not about just the 40 million lives lost, but an additional prospective 250 million+ lives to be lost if we lose the war.

Markos Moulitsas Zuniga built their single issue voter tent. It is much weaker than we think, if Republicans can pull together.

If not, then we get what we get.

BTW I believe that all of the major Republican candidates would try to appoint strict constructionist judges, which is an additional control.

Wonderful!! You just elected Obama!!
\
It doesn’t get much more stupid than that!!

And .. under Obama .. if you didn’t like 9/11 - get ready .. you’re going to have another chance to see the terrorists attack us .. BIG TIME!!

Remember .. 1993 - WTC - 2001 - Finished the job. The next one will be even bigger .. and the intel groups have been saying for months that a plan is already in motion.

I guess the only thing that will wake America up is to be forced to suffer another devastating attack. I just hope my grandchildren are not part of the target!!

Thank you very much!!
