One day one of these idiots is going to succeed in shutting down Indian Point and the lights are going to go off in Manhattan. Then what are they going to do?

Monkey boy Andy (who REALLY does look like a chimp) is merely carrying the water for his Leftchester contributors. I vote for building a coal burning plant in Scarsdale if they don’t want nuclear power.

Spitzer, Cuomo and Spano are just playing for points. They know full well that Indian Point will be relicensed. In fact, they are counting on it.

If Indian Point was shut down, they would be responsible for the resulting disaster, and they would lose their favorite whipping boy. You know that these three thank their lucky stars every day for the existance and continued operation of Indian Point.

I have a 38-year old Amazon parrot. In her younger years she would get nervous and start chewing up the very perch she was sitting on until it collapsed (she can splinter a broomstick in seconds...and loves to do it). She destroys the very infrastructure that supports her, and that's pretty close to what these liberals are trying to do.

Tear down the nuclear plant and replace it with what? Some pie-in-the sky liberal pipe-dream of free energy from somewhere....maybe they want to replace it with a coal-fired plant...oops global warming.

There is near zero threat to a nuke plant even if a Boeing 747 went into it. A bunch of BS that is playing on peoples fears. Like a lot of these types of issues, artificial hurdles are created that are set so high that “de facto” the operation is shut down. The exact same thing was done years ago in Germany where they played on peoples fear and their poor understanding of the threat as well as viability of anything happening even if a nuke plant were struck. The agenda is obvious, shut down nuclear plants, and may it be false environmental or today some safety aspect pertaining to terrorism, these arguments are nothing more than façade intended to drive their largely ideological agenda.

Nuclear power is the way to go! We need more, not less!

The very name of this facility gave me an idea -

if the “Native Americans” can build casinos on their reservations because they are considered to be “other countries” -

why not nuke plants?

It can't be coal, oil, or gas. Applications for all of these have been made and rejected by New York. It can't be hydro, wind, tidal or solar. Projects to site these have been rejected by New York as well. I am pretty sure PeTA would object to a million squirrels running on a million wheels. I don't see where the power is going to come from.

Correct. Right after The Beast was elected NY Senator.

BTW, Governor and Senator, why was the brand new $4 billion LILCO plant on LI never fired up?

One day one of these idiots is going to succeed in shutting down Indian Point and the lights are going to go off in Manhattan. Then what are they going to do?

“The Indian Point relicensing application wholly fails to address a number of crucial issues, and it should not be granted in its present form,” said Governor Spitzer. “I have repeatedly stated that we should close Indian Point as soon as there is sufficient replacement power available, and in the interim we will continue to insist that all environmental, safety and security issues are fully evaluated and addressed, in order to protect the health and safety of the communities surrounding the plant.”

Spitnitwit left himself an out.

Steets said, “fear-based rhetoric cannot alter the fact that, depending on seasonal demand, the 2,000 megawatts produced by Indian Point supplies between 18 percent and 38 percent of our region’s electricity needs with zero greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming.”
