COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

Are you sure he was a univ student in OK? I read elsewhere that his 21-yo brother goes to Oral Roberts in Tulsa. Maybe that’s mixed up?

Boubonnais says Murray was dressed in all black with combat boots and he had an assault rifle. Boubonnais says Murray reminded him of a SWAT officer.

“I jumped out, got his attention and called him a name. And then he just looked at me and then he started to shoot me and so when I realized that, I jumped back,” said Boubonnais, “and all I got were two pellets in my arm so I thought, ‘Well, I’ll jump out again’ and then I noticed the lady to my right. He shot a few times. She shot a few.”

“She (Assam) was yelling, I recall, ‘Surrender.’ I didn’t want to get in her way. I was unarmed, so I ran kind of up and parallel because I couldn’t see,” said Boubonnais. “She fired off 10 or 12 shots and we both came around the corner and he started sliding down and he started bleeding. He looked pretty dead. I told her to take a headshot and she said, ‘No, I think he’s dead.’ I took a handgun out of his hand because I was unarmed. I cleared it. It had jammed, I remember that.”

“I told her that’s the bravest thing I’ve ever seen and she said, ‘I was just praying. It was the Holy Spirit to help me do this right.’ That was pretty powerful stuff, very, very brave,” he said.

The gunman pointed a handgun at the woman and fired three shots, Bourbonnais said. She returned fire and just kept walking toward the gunman pressing off round after round.

The female guard fired off about a dozen shots.

After the gunman went down, Bourbonnais asked the woman, who has only been identified as a volunteer security guard with the church, how she remained so calm and focused.

Bourbonnais said she replied: "I was asking the Holy Spirit to guide me the entire time."

The gunman shot at her several times and she still walked straight towards him... I think it was the grace of G-d that prevented her from being injured frankly... It doesn't sound like this man missed his targets at any time before that...

G-d bless this woman for not only listening to His voice leading her to volunteer for this position, but that she remembered that the L-rd is always by our sides -- especially in times of need such as this. I pray her comments get wide play in the press...

If you google that address - 10929 E. Berry Pl - about a dozen or so results down the page is a link to an Englewood neurologist who lists that as his address. Which is kind of strange, since you’d think doctors only list their clinic addresses. So I don’t know if there’s some mistake here....

Well....here's an answer for ya, Card.:

The gunman was identified as Matthew Murray, 24, who was home-schooled by his family and raised in what a friend said was a deeply religious Christian household. Murray's father is a neurologist and a leading multiple-sclerosis researcher.
