San Francisco police today began their review of the cell phones and car belonging to the survivors of a Christmas Day tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo, officials said.

A San Francisco Superior Court judge granted a search warrant allowing police to examine the cell phones and car on Tuesday.

For police and city officials to get the warrant, they needed to show probable cause of felony wrongdoing, a city official said.

You obviously never met my daughter-in-law's family.

Maybe this is where this scuttlebutt came from regarding a car full of beer bottles. I wondered how anyone would know this but if they have the car in custody...

This is a very intriguing case and I hope you’re right, that authorities held on to that car.

And don’t forget the dead tiger. What did that tiger do but defend itself?

The biggest sham of all would be for these drunken louts to win a bunch of money off of this thing.

I’d settle for a plea bargain that kept them out of jail but prohibited any lawsuits on benefit from their bad behavior.

As for the zoo...no camers were working? The wall was the wrong size? Nobody was on duty?

Someone needs to look closely at how that place was run.

Of course Mark Geragos is already working on it. Last week there was released, in England, a personal account by one of these fine boys about what it was like to be attacked by a tiger. Geragos has to make these boys seem like innocents if he’s to realize any return on his time.

Mark Geragos, the reason people despise lawyers.

Heck, I despise Geragos and I’m a legal assistant!
I believe they found an empty vodka bottle in the car - I haven’t read anything about beer bottles, but then again who know. I believe the “slingshot” rumor was unfounded, however.

But I’m thinking the police aren’t going to tell all they know, which they aren’t obligated to do in an ongoing investigation. I certainly wouldn’t. I wouldn’t give these two time to make their stories match the facts they keep reading. I am especially suspicious since they have not provided any information about how the tiger got out.

Or maybe they're wanting to charge them with felony tiger taunting.

Yes, in the future anyone dumb enough to go to a zoo will wear a gag, and kids will not be allowed. No yelling, here tiger. Poor old tony! LOL

I think a zoo is a place to go admire & observe animals. Not taunt them or roar, hiss or caw at them. I also think the zoo should have guards moving people out if it was closing time. There should have been cameras on all the animals, not just the tigers to prevent taunting or morons climbing walls etc. That is common sense to me. I do think these guys knew better to taunt animals & I think they did something to the tiger. What I dont know. I think both parties are at fault. After hearing more animals recently got out of cages I believe this zoo ought to shut down until it can be made safe for it’s animals & the visitors. I know if 3 idiots were taunting me & I were a tiger in a zoo & was taunted I would like to get out & make the score even if I could. IMO if you taunt an animal you should realize it may be able to get you. I also think idiots who do taunting need to be bounced from the zoo. This story stinks, & I wonder if the truth will ever come out.

Four: Do you really think that someone deserves to be chewed and killed by a tiger for merely teasing it somewhat?

And yet, the guy's dead.

Cosmic justice is more profound than the man-made attempt.

Sorry, but it's not up the 'gubmmint' officials to stop this kind of teasing, if that's what went on. We don't know yet, but if it is found that the dimwits were teasing a powerful, aggressive wild animal, they have nobody to blame but themselves, and they are responsible for the consequences.

Why do you want to tell lies like that? The cops said there was no slingshots.

Why are you not calling the zoo officials assclowns for having a fence 4 feet lower than recommended for containing tigers?Because it's the job of the 'officials' to maintain reasonable security, not protect against every irresponsible juvy idiot out for a night of wilding. Actions have consequences. This is a axiomatic in a free, stable society.

How long would it take for the kids to destroy by accident all their cell phones?

I read about people wanting their cell phones the day after this.
I would think their cell phones are either wiped and cleaned or gone IMO.

If they are going to do it, don’t advertise all over the press about it.

Now if the cell phones have remained in police custody and they have also access to recorded messages and text messages, that would be a whole other issue. :-)

I keep seeing references to the fence being a few feet, four feet too short.

I sit here thinking, the wild cat, strong tiger that she was, in a fit of rage, or hunger or whatever, crosses a moat, then climbs or runs up the fence, shinnies (?) up the fence, gets over and hunts the perps or prey down. So, this Tiger, this wild animal of the agile cat family can do all that, but if the fence was a mere 48 inches taller, it somehow would have guarenteed that she could not clear it?

I would not bet my life on that.
