Correct. A Thompson/Romney ticket would be great. Or Thompson/Palin to help bring in the female vote. Or Thompson/Watts for the black vote (yeah, good luck with that problem), etc., etc.
I jump off the Bush band wagon after CFR and while I did vote for him in 2004, the alternative was to hard to bare! It was a lesser of 2 evils vote. Bush has me on killing the Islamofachists and that it!!! There like roaches, if you are only going to kill some of them, whats the point!
Here is my take on the weather right now. First, it just started raining here in the Greenville area. But the central part of the state - Columbia has been hit hard this morning with heavy rain. Most senior citizens, one, will not want to go out in the rain, and two, are just now getting around to go vote before or after lunch. Most of the ppl I saw voting this morning were ppl in 30s-50s. So, as the day goes on, ppl are going to decide not to go out into the weather. Now, I think McCain had more support in the Columbia area with the older citizens, so my guess is the weather will really affect his turnout. Fredheads are more compassionate with their support and will turnout no matter what. My concern is with the undecideds and Huck supporters. Will they go out later in the day after the weather turns ugly?
Who cares about the exit polls, since they are often wrong...
Still, I’d rather a judge both sides can agree on than a lefty like Ginsberg rammed down our throats. It’s just that at this time the court can really move right of it’s current position even with potential McCain moderates. No way they’d be as leftist as Ginsberg and Stevens.
Yes, Huck did it through the churches. Thousands of calls going out to the membership promoting Huck. I never heard about what may have been said IN churches.
You’re right, it was all very surreptitious. We never heard what those calls said. No media coverage. But it sure worked wonders. (Scary)
My guess- churches, and the Common Sense push-polling group.
When you have a group like Common Cause with lots of $$ - they do the work for you...add that to the churches..

That seems pretty much correct; the numbers I have are (number in brackets are minus superdelegates):
Romney 54 (48), Huckabee 22 (19), McCain 15 (15), Thompson 6 (6), Paul 2 (2), Hunter 1 (1), Giuliani 1 (0), others 0 (0)
On the Democratic side, here are the current numbers:
Clinton 190 (24), Obama 103 (25), Edwards 51 (18), Kucinich 1 (0), Gravel 0 (0)
I don’t know. McCain is enitrely too cozy with the hard Left ideological wing of the Democrat Party. Kerry-Keennedy-Leahy etc. The notion that he would appoint judges they disapproved of is not supported by his record.
However, I am hopful that the weather reports indicate we will not have to face that choice. The strong McCain areas are getting snow. That did him in in MI, let us hope for a repeat in SC
