Actor who played oldest son in The Patriot, one of the guys in Brokeback Mountain, and was to play the Joker in the new Batman movie.

I was really looking forward to seeing him in that role. Very sad...

TMZ is reporting he died at 3:30 PM. He was in cardiac arrest when the cops arrived but they could not revive him.

No foul play involve.

I think the point is that you wouldn’t make jokes about the death of the teacher, so you shouldn’t about the death of a celebrity, either. Still, your point that you shouldn’t care any more for a celebrity than anyone else is well taken.
