I know the Huck wont quit, but if Romney were to quit and endorse the Huck, McCain would be toast.Actually, he sort of did endorse him: "We need to make sure that we have a strong person who can take the baton from President Bush, and Gov. Huckabee is certainly one of those individuals. He'd make a fine president." - Mitt Romney, 2005

Huckabee and McCain seem to have a neat little plan to beat Romney. Fine. But they better also have a plan for how they intend to heal the party and reclaim all of the people they are totally pissing off with their lies and games.

“I dont like the Huckster, but ya just gotta love it when a spunky Southron sticks an effete Masshole in the eye.”
Maybe, but I doubt that Huckabee’s psychiatrist will be impressed.

“a vote for HUckabee is a vote for Hillary.”
A vote for Keyes is a vote for Kucinich.

“Unless he wins in California, Romney has lost EVERY key battleground state. “
Explain to me your definition of “key battleground state” and why it doesn’t seem to include Michigan.

huckabee will pave the way for a Fred pick as VP.
If huckabee was not in the race, romney would still be 2nd but there would be no appeal to social conservatives.
If romney was not in the race, there would be no voice for the people who care deeply about immigration
Fred could bring back both camps together. Not perfectly but combined with mccain’s appeal to independents and security hawks, mccain would have the best chance of any GOP candidate to win

Actually, I think Huckabee is the only one who has any chance of winning nationally. McCain is a bitter old man who has been annointed by the lefty press, and Romney is a middle aged cynic who has the money to buy the job, so we have all been thinking that one or the other of them will get it.
But Huckabee is the only one with ideas and a personality, and the only one who might be able to kick Obama back to his Luo cousin in hell-hole Kenya.

Huckabee’s success is rather amazing...no money like Romney and no mainstream media-anointed momentum like McCain...hated by the “conservative” radio talking heads, look at all the hatred for him represented here...Huckabee won’t get the nomination but what he has been able to accomplish is very impressive given the lack of resources and all the animosity directed at him.

"Im hoping Obama vrs McCain, then maybe a real third party will get into the act." Obama would like to see that too, it would guarantee his victory. He (or Hillary) will rely on the Republicans to stay at home, vote 3rd party, or write candidates to win.

Mike Soundbite. He could actually win the nomination in our vacuous culture.

MCain is winning all of the states that Republicans are not going to win in November no matter who is the candidate and he's losing the states that the Republican candidate must win to have a chance.
To: Nonstatist
Id like to hear him say one sharp thing about McCain, on any subject.. I think well all die waiting..The Huckster is too smart for that. McCain is the Media Darling, a war hero and and old geezer. Romney is rich, young, pretty and the outsider. People love it when he hits Romney.

You are mistaken, Obama and McCain would split the liberal vote opening the door for a conservative.

But they better also have a plan for how they intend to heal the party and reclaim all of the people they are totally pissing off with their lies and games. If Huckabee plus Romney total a majority, even if Huckabee plus McCain would also total a majority, I would think Romney could prevent McCain from taking the nomination by offering Huckabee the #1 spot. Given that McCain is a back-stabbing traitor in addition to being a liberal, and given that Romney wouldn't be able to do much else useful with his delegates, I wonder if that might be a worthwhile strategy?
