No it not best to vote Democrat. What is best is vote for solid Conservatives and write in your Presidential vote. We got to have enough Congress seats to spike the Left’s political agenda. Way things are looking now, we will not even have that after McCain get slaughtered in the General. Looking to be 1980 with the Dems running their Anti Reagan. We will be lucky to win 10 states.

I’ve been thinking that the best I can do to spite the jerks that have talked so much negativity against Mitt this year is to do all that I can in 2012 to make sure Mitt fights again for the nomination. Even Reagan didn’t win his first race.

Romney had my vote tonight, and he’ll have it in 2012. I am DAMN PROUD to have him as my vote.

The problem is that if the Republican’s lose in November, and we will if McCain is our candidate, the finger of blame will be pointed at us Conservatives.

Well we might take a look at how we are all savaging each others' candidates on the GOP side. It's not just McCain. Before that Guiliani was the devil, then Romney, then Huckabee, then McCain.

This is a conservative site. So far you haven't named any conservatives who were "savaged". Liberals are always fair game for "savaging" here.

So we end up with an old Warrior with a bad temper

I WANT A PRESIDENT WITH A BAD TEMPER!

instead of one who considers an inspirational leadership in time of war - telling the nation to go spend money in Disney World and to remember that islam is a religion of peace and oh.... goes and has ramadingdong dinners with moslems every stinking year.

Gimme a President with a hell of a temper who will use our supremacy in weaponry to annihilate the enemy now, at once, in one push of the button..... before the button is pushed by our enemies against US.

Well tonight I learned the truth, I learned that I have been mislabeling McCain and Huckabee. I have been calling them RINO's. When in fact, it's me and all other Reagan conservatives that are the RINO's...

To be a Republican now means you support amnesty for illegals, global warming hysteria, gun control, tax hikes, huge new social programs, suppression of free speech and negotiating principles when it means "getting along" with democrats.

So for the foreseeable future I will remain a Republican-In-Name-Only...

FR was Hunter and Fred territory. A bunch of Fredheads did jump to Mitt, but no enough to sway the rock ribbed conservatives here.

“It’s gonna be up to Huck to stop the McCainiac. Can he do it?”

No. He never could and since NH, Huck’s only role was in making it easier for McCain to defeat the real challenger, ROmney.

End of story.

McCain won 9 states, including big ones, and over 50% of the delegates tonight.
Romney won 7 states and probably about 30% of the delegates tonight.
Huckabee, narrowly, won 5 states, and maybe 20% of the delegates tonight.

Nobody wins by getting 20%.

Which is why we should give them no reason to blame us by backing a 3rd party candidate. They have point blank told us. "We can win without you icky Right Wingers".

Ok, well they are going to try. Let them. They don't need us, I got better things to do with my time and money. How about you?

Time for a new conservative / libertarian Patriot Party.

Forget the GOP.

The GOP doesn’t get it, and the GOP doesn’t care.

The GOP is going to lose. There’s no avoiding the loss now.

Time to build a new party.

Huckabee can’t win outside of the south. Look at his pitiful vote totals in the northeast and out west. It’s all over. McPain wins.

Really?

I lost a lot of respect for guys like you by comparison. But when the party moves TO THE LEFT in 2012, you’ll have your reward for your efforts.

I’m pissed off and I’ll curse at you since you’re a friend, I know you and I can get away with it....

FR didn’t embrace Mitt. But I’ll take a new convert to Conservatism and hope he is genuine over a liberal who despises limited government like Huck or McCain any day.

You went out of your way to slam Fred any chance you got. You were single handedly responsible for Fred dropping out (alright, I made that last part up).

“Back a big nanny state liberal tax and spender over a big Govt Authoritarian tax hiking Liberal? Why bother?”

No dog in that fight primary-wise.
Face it, the conservatives got creamed this time.
But at least McCain is an *electable* RINO.

As conservatives, we are going to have to rebuild from the ground up.

I supported Thompson. He bailed fairly early. I went to my #2 choice, Romney. McLame and Schmuckabee pulled their tag-team crap on him and now maybe his campaign is nearing the end.

I don’t think I can back Schmucksterbee and am paralyzed when I think about McRINO getting the nod.

What’s a thoughtful Conservative to do ????

:(

I wouldn’t mind seeing a one on one debate between Huckabee and McCain.

I was a big Thompson fan, but Thompson was a weak candidate. The party establishment did not hurt him. He hurt himself.
