In their coverage of what they believed to be Romney's political funeral on Super Tuesday, let's get a few facts straight:
Romney crushed Huckabee in the popular vote today, winning by margin of approximately 2:1.
Romney won more delegates than Huckabee
Romney won more states than Huckabee
Romney won roughly 2x as many 1st or 2nd place finishes.
Romney didn't poll less than 10% in any state, and as for Huckabee, well, ouch!!
Romney will clearly be the #2 Republican in terms of electoral votes after Super Tuesday.
So while McCain is clearly the front-runner, Fox News couldn't have erred more badly in terms of who had the better night between Romney & Huckabee.
Minnesota, Montana, Mass, Utah, Idaho, North Dakota, Kansas
He has more delegates than the Huckster....
ever see the movie, the iceman cometh ?
Lee Marvin’s best performance
Mitt spent all week talking about a 2-man race and insisting that Huckabee drop out — yet Huckabee swept much of the South while Mitt was confined to a few small caucii.
McCain vs Obama = Obama landslide
I fergot to add that the Fox News folk were also saying that Huckabee took evangelicals votes that Romney could’ve gotten. I think that is probably true.
Wrong...
Thanks for doing the math. I was wondering about that - how many actual votes each candidate received.
But where did you find the numbers? And I’d really like to know what the count is in California. The media made it sound as if we wouldn’t even have results from there until tomorrow, yet they’ve already called it for McCain!
Completely wrong. Romney got more votes in California than Huckabee did across the country, CA included.
Let’s check the delegate count tomorrow and see who’s right.
I agree. Fox has had TERRIBLE coverage. One big McCain cheerleading club. I switched to CNN after the first couple minutes.
Are you series? From a reading of the headlines here on FR, it looked like Romney didn’t do squat! Maybe the folks in the MSM, and I guess we’ll have to include FoxNews in that designation, don’t want folks to realize that.
I hope the McHuck voters are prepared for an Obillary presidency. I am.
And people say religion isn’t a factor.
Mitt is dropping out thursday.
And Huckabee was countering with "it's a three man race"
Tonite he conceded it is a two man race...him and McCain
lol
“I would say McCain will be toast vs Obama...should that happen”
Current national polls do not agree with you.
“Presumably youre talking about Huckabee? Logic dictates he would be the first to drop out, then Romney.”
No, what I was saying is that the reasons that they stay in or drop out are not based simply on surface measurements.
Romney will take a measure of things and then make his decision, it will not be a simple numbers measurement that any one can do by looking at number of states, or number of delegates.
These guys are looking at more than 2+2=4, or else every political race would be a self destructive endurance race until the bitter end.
