I just returned from the 47th district caucus. I was shocked at the number of people. Pretty amazing turnout.
My precinct table all voted for Romney.
I was at my caucus. I think Ron Paul did very well ... from the few ballots I saw. His were the only signs there too. My husband and I voted Fred. Not that our vote makes a difference any way.
That may be true, but all eyes are on Washingtons odd-ball Saturday caucus. We would not have the candidates here today if it was so insignificant. Loosing this state to Romney would send a clear message to McCain that his disdain for Boeing did not go unnoticed.
All precincts but one or two filled their delegate slots (one precinct, Happy Valley, was unrepresented) and a few filled their alternate lists. I'm not sure if I've seen that before.
This was also the most low-key caucus I've seen. Usually tempers get running a little high over something or another, but not this time. Nobody seemed to want to start a discussion over anything.
One couple had gone to the Democrat caucus by mistake, at a nearby school. They reported the parking lot full and cars all up & down the street...
Report from the 5th Leg District - Hunter Precinct:
Just got back from caucusing at Clark. I put down Romney. There were only 6 of us from our precinct - 1 precinct next to mine (Kintler or Kingler - I can’t remember now) didn’t have any one there. I’m going to be a delegate at district on Mar 8. I know of at least 3 votes Mitt got from other precincts. Our precinct’s votes included Fred and McCain.
I meant to take a guesstimate count before I left and didn’t. In thinking about it now, I’d say a rough guess from what I can remember is that there were about 150 or so there from various precincts.
On the way home, I passed Pacific Freshman Campus - the parking lot was full and there were cars parked up and down Issaquah - Fall City Road. I pulled in and asked what was going on - they said it was the Democratic Caucus (obviously much bigger turnout than ours, but I believe they do theirs differently, too). I thought it was at one of the elementary schools on the plateau. My caucus members and I were talking about Reichert - this used to be a very reliable Republican district and so the last election - Dave against Darcy Burner, should have been a no brainer; however, a lot of libs have been moving to the burbs, including up here, so the voting demographics is unfortunately changing. They screw up Seattle and then move to the burbs and try to screw those up, too (like the folks moving from MA to the south).
I've been referring to it as "The Glorious People's Republik of Seattlistan" for years and years, now. ;)
We just retuned from our caucus in Kirkland. The caucus chairman said that this was the largest turnout he had seen. In our precinct, all the delegates voted for Romney.
Snoho here. Voted for Romney.
Dem turnout is so large becaus of their deligates are determined there, the primary means nothing as no delegates are awarded by its outcome. Pubbie is 50/50.
Report from our Precinct in the 31st....only 7 in our precinct (including me and SandyInSeattle...yeah!)...The tally was 1-Huckabee; 2-McCain; and 4-Romney.

We just got back from the So Whidbey caucus. They combined 17 precincts - and it was packed. Usually only 8 or so show up for my precinct and there was 26 today. My son was voted a delegate to the county convention! Very exciting for an 18 year old!
Large turnout in Kitsap. Many Huck-a-nuts and Paulistinians. One major surprise, not many McCain supporters. Delegates pledged to support McCain eventually, but...
It was the largest turnout in my precinct in the 20 years I’ve been either PCO or caucus attendee. Lets hope this turnout reflects a resurgence of the Republican party in Washington.

I think McCain then takes WA state. If we cannot unite around the candidate who is actually running, I don’t see much point in conservatives expecting to have any kind of voice in the GOP.
Just got back from the Redmond/Bellevue caucuses, turnout was freakin’ insane. It’s a good thing the fire marshal is apparantly not a Republican, since he definitely would’ve kicked us out... there were easily four times too many people for the building. Amazing that turnout was so high for a race that’s essentially already decided, I can only imagine what it must’ve been like for the Dems. Five people turned out from my precinct, which is a far sight better than the one (me) who showed up the last time I caucused. Of the five of us, we had two Huckabees, two Pauls, and me, who voted for Thompson-and-I-don’t-care-if-he-dropped-out. He was the President who should have been. He was the best of them.
