It Is Over [Kudlow says: Hillary! is done]
corner.nationalreview.com ^ | 2-20-8 | Larry Kudlow

Posted on 02/19/2008 10:29:59 PM PST by Petronski

Please allow me a dose of hardened market realism concerning Obama's landslide victory in Wisconsin. The race is over. Hillary is finished. The Clinton Restoration is over.

President Bill Clinton's political invincibility is over. Hillary's electability is over. Obama got to the far Left faster than she did. He out organized her in the precincts. He out fundraised her. He out speechified her. He out-hustled her. He out-dressed her. He out-presidentialed her. He outdid her and he outbid her for votes, one promised government check at a time.

A 15-point margin in Wisconsin is incredible. Wisconsin is a lot like Ohio except for the wacko ultra-Left Madison college population, which is even worse that Columbus's Ohio State. But there are so many campuses in Ohio that will go for Obama that it is no matter. Think faculty voters, grimly determined for a left-wing takeover of America " from the bottom up" to use the former Saul Alinsky community organizer's phrase. As goes Wisconsin, so goes Ohio.

"I predict a pattern of self destruction and some bitter retribution"

I can barely contain my delight at the thought.

It seems:
The Democratic Party discovers a new JFK.

The GOP goes with Dole partie deux.

People I trust say that Obama will be harder to beat than Hillary! would have been.

I am simply not buying that argument. Mrs. Clinton is failing now because she is not able to use the most potent weapons in her arsenal. The usual Democrat stand-by of race baiting is lost to her. Obama's "Historical First" trumps hers by a country mile. The Round-Heeled Media, for once, is not going to let her get away with going negative.

But in the General Election, all these constraints would be removed. Mrs. Clinton would release a sh!t-storm the likes we have never seen, and the Round-Heeled Media would back her up every step of the way.

Frankly, I think we lose either way, but I think that we have an outside chance at Bambi if we run a serious national security type campaign. But there is no way to beat Mrs. Clinton once she is running against the eeeeeeevil Republicans.

The best the pubbies can do is beef up the House with new (real) conservatives and bide their time.

True. And the next President will probably have his hands full with Iran going nuclear and Russia coming to defend Serbia after the Kosovo/Serbia Border War flares up. That is why the Rino/Dinos may yet decide that McCain would be better. The Dino Hillary was not supposed to fail so miserably, but dang, it sure is a nice sight. Almost felt like we were living in an actual Democracy for a second there :>

Hey, every one of them politicos have talked about getting the dead weight out of Washington for years. Obama is chanting from past speeches and has nothing behind his rhetoric. Will the people figure it out....Half will half won’t

Hillary has suddenly become an incredibly steep inverted yield curve, with a rapidly declining credit rating and a complete drying up of liquidity. She won't be able to raise two wooden nickels...

Hilarious.

The race is over. Hillary is finished. The Clinton Restoration is over.

March 4, 2008 could be the defining day for the Clinton Machine.

If Hillary loses TX and or OH, it is game over. Game over, not only for Clinton's 2008 run for the White House, but game over for the Clinton hold on Washington and politics.

Lose, and the previously perceived Clinton influence dries up as fast as John Kerry's did after his 2004 loss.

Lose, and Hillary will not get enough funding to muster a run in 2012.

===

Win, however, and some how manage to win the nomination, she will be formidable, going in to the November election. If Team Clinton manages to beat Obama, they will have a cake walk against McCain.

And if Clinton wins in November, we will face another 8 years of Clinton entrenchment in Washington politics and institutions.

+++

March 4, 2008 can turn into a RED letter day for the Clintons or for America.

While the thought of an Obama Presidency repulses me. The thought of Hillary winning anything, even the primaries, makes me wretch.

You said it. Exactly how I feel. I hate both of those socialists, but I can't even tolerate hearing her voice(literally, I change the channel, turn down the radio, etc.). At least with Obama, I can listen to how hard he's going to give it to me. 4 years of Hillary will leave me with a "wait, what?" as my paycheck dips by half simply because I can't hear her monotone "yack yack yack YACK YACK YAAACKK YAAAACCK YAAAAAAACK".

Yes, the primary numbers point towards a massive Dem win.

Like many other Republicans and independents I voted Obama in Virginia. I know some 17 year olds (will be 18 in Nov) and they all voted anti-Hillary. The challenge now is to wean them off Obama.

if this all turns out to be true, we are left with another Marxist, one who is potentially more dangerous.

I agree. His name is John McCain.

If you saw Obama's speech tonight, you saw the next president of the United States, barring any unnatural interference by the old wing of that party. They asked for substance, he added substance.
