[ Did you know that, in the back woods of Maine, "the Great Change" is a euphemism for "death?" ]

Change can also mean "Change for your own good"...
Whatever that means.. Oligarchy is so paternalistic..

I voted for Bush in 2004 for 2 reasons: the war on terror and judges. I expected nothing more than for him to fulfill those 2 things for me. He did.

I will vote for McCain for mainly 1 thing - the war on terror. I expect him to do the best out of the candidates available.

I don’t think I’ll be disappointed.

True to your form, you've reduced this something purely unfounded to what I did or did not feel while in the military. Of which you know NOTHING about. I merely made a comment how the rest of this country at the time thought about the military - if I had agreed with them then I guess I wouldn't have volunteered, would I?.

Nowhere I know of a logical person could extrapolate that I was "in it for myself" as you infer. You further extrapolate an intense opposition to a particular candidate to mean I wish the soldiers ill, equally illogical. Maybe in your twisted sense of justificational logic it doesn't but it doesn't in my book. Lastly, I note that you didn't include yourself in that hypothetical foxhole. You've made your obligatory McCain opponent insults to make your points, now go bother a Democrat for a change. That's who you're really gonna have to convince in this election. Sheesh!!

Well you nailed me. My logic here is horrifically flawed. If your problem is you can’t see the damage that your non-vote does to put Obama in office, all because your such a wonderfully principled man you could never-wever vote for a con like McCain, then how the hell could I think extrapolation would serve any purpose? If you had the ability to see beyond yourself, your current situation, well then we wouldn’t be having this discussion in the first place. I am sorry. You keep that cute avoidance thing going there, Ensign Pulver. (Wait - I take that back - he actually learned in the end)

The failure of the Republican party to field a true conservative and your (or those like you) virtual insistence that Conservatives now vote for McCain because the alternative is horrific is ludicrous. You and the other appeasers are rude, obnoxious, sarcastic and insulting in your 'convincing' arguments. Truthfully? I wish I'd never responded to you. Go take it up with a Democrat, I won't be wasting my time with you anymore. To the other McCain appeasers here: This person is one of yours. Do you wonder why your collective group isn't persuading more conservatives to "see the (actually, your) light?"

I understand you not wasting your time with me. When a guy’s best solution is to take his ball and run home, you clearly must have a lot of fascinating projects to get working on. Enjoy your rump time come November; and if people who give a damn keep you from having a President Obama, well then you are most very welcome. Even if you aren’t smart enough to know it.

Another Vietnam? PC war is with us still. We still abandon our allies. McCain is such a POOR choice for conservatives that many of us are willing to let the GOP hit ROCK BOTTOM in order to send them the bulletin that victory is impossible without steel conservative principles.

I will hunker down and wait. And if McCain happens to get the nomination (and that is far from assured) I might wait it out then too. BTW - My veteran hero family members agree.
They do not like to operate from a position of weakness.
