Happy 2000000!
Well, the parts that have been blown up have cost enormous historical value. They’ve since been replaced with more mundane commercial buildings that have no history and no atmosphere.
Of course, the Greenback Rules, here. For some reason....
Same story in my old home town in OH. They tore down the [bleep]-ing woods for some ugly, unnecessary office buildings and crap.
I think when the first one went the next guy tried to out do the last. I guess it is a gut thing seeings things blow up real good.

We don’t have “woods” here. We have desert. Desert mountains, desert valleys, desert highways, desert hiking trails, desert roads, desert canyons, desert yards, desert parks....
“Office buildings and crap” are necessary here for the economic health of the Las Vegas Valley. Fly over it in the daylight, and you may think it’s the most barren, most God-forsaken place on the face of the earth.
Up close and personal, it’s a thing of beauty in the way the flora and fauna have adapted to the severe conditions.
There is a saying: You can’t go home again. What it means is that the older you get the less of your past is there to hold you. Sooner or later, you have to let it go and be content with memories.
They aren’t necessary for a town of less than 20k to have 2 Walgreens and 3 shopping centers that look alike and cookie cutter houses that are too small for comfort.
If the Zombies get hold of this - not saying they will or anything - then they will have to go to other countries for their Undead. I mean...we’re AMERICANS! We RULE the Flying Castle!
Zombies can zombify our enemies, and then they can be controlled with the dust bunnies and spiderbots. Or had you forgotten about them?
I’m sure DC has something going in the Forges that can resist the pull of the Zombie-thingys...if not, Darksheare can stupefy them with his ‘splody things.
Geez. Isn’t there ANYTHING in life that is PLEASANT in your eyes? Pardon me for speaking out, but you have the most dismal outlook on life and your environs than anyone I have EVER run across.
NOTHING is good enough for you; nothing is pretty enough; lasts long enough; is worth the effort.
I don’t know what your current problem is, but I would strongly suggest that you see a medical professional and get something to lift your spirits.
Your comments at large depress me.
Yeah, same story....the problem there was the design was bad, and they squeezed too many on too little land. They also broke their own zoning laws but that’s nothing new for government. The block where my grandparents lived, and still do, is better.
“Fly over it in the daylight, and you may think its the most barren, most God-forsaken place on the face of the earth.”
I flown on it and have driven through it. I have decided it is the second most barren, God-forsaken place on the face of the earth that I have been.
Love that - consider it stolen
We all see things as they apply to us. Our opinions of the “truth” will do nothing to change the Truth. If it is a desert in your eyes, it may actually be a desert. If it is a forest in your eyes, it may only be a copse of trees.
“Progress” destroys our childhood memories and replaces the wide open spaces with cookie-cutter tracts and ugly office buildings.
“Nothing in nature is unbeautiful.”
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
“You can never go home again.”
“One man’s meat is another man’s poison.”
All true. In ways that only as individuals can we explain. And when push comes to shove, we have only ourselves and God to answer to. He made the Earth and all things in it, including you and me. That’s not to say He’s happy with what Man has done, but then, He keeps His own counsel. And WE should be greatful that we haven’t yet gotten the ZOT!
Oh!
Now THAT’s controversial!
(But I like it!) LOL!
Wasn’t that in a James Bond movie?
I dunno, but it probably should have been.
WAIT!
I know: Pussy Galore!!
cmon guys, its just a friendly Cthulhu Kitty
Whatever works!
LOL!
