Media's War Lies (Good Read)
Front Page Magazine ^ | 4/18/2008 | Ralph Peters

LIKE many Americans, I get angry at biased "reporting" about Iraq and the spin from dishonest pundits. Usually, I get over it quickly, since my expectations of the media are pretty low. But sometimes a Big Lie just won't let go. And the lefty lie that the Iraqi military is a hopeless failure must be answered.

Yes, we all know that left-wing media outlets, such as the dying New York Times, need Iraq to fail to redeem their credibility. They'll do all they can to dismiss any sign of progress.

But the perverted gloating over recent Iraqi military operations in Basra combines willful ignorance of military affairs with a shameless manipulation of the facts. Yes, some local Iraqi police and new military recruits ran away. But that was all that the media reported.

Where was the coverage of the 95 percent of the Iraqi security forces who did their duty? Some fought superbly. The Iranian-backed gangs and militias took a beating.

For the MSM, victory is not good news for themselves and the Democrats. Its not good copy, it doesn't serve to advance the template and it doesn't lead. Good news in Iraq then is essentially no news. For all practical extents and purposes, Iraq has disappeared from the headlines and a dominating issue in the presidential election.

The partial disappearance of Iraq from the headlines was to be expected even though the MSM will throw the anti-war dogs a bone every now and then.
The US is in stage two of the MSM’s plan. First, make everything in Iraq seem unbearable and keep blaming it on the President. Second, closer to the election slow down on the “disparity” in Iraq but continue with the negative reporting in order to get a Democrat, who says they'll pull the troops, elected. Third, if a Democrat gets elected then paint everything rosy and claim that adjustments made turned things around. Forth, stop reporting altogether on Iraq even though there will still be 100k troops there.

The MSM has sacrificed all credibility to engage in partisan politics. If they’re reporting on a flood or tornado, it’s usually somewhat accurate until they throw in the global warming spin. When they report on the war, environment or anything political or susceptible to being politicized, I switch channels. Most galling is the media’s arrogance when they deny their bias, as though no one will figure it out. They assume we’re so busy clinging to our religion and guns that no lie is too big to promote. Without any mandate from the government, the media in America has self-transitioned into the most corrupt propaganda machine since Goebbels and the Third Reich; NOTHING can be taken at face value.

In my rural county the influx of hispanic immigrants, a large proportion of whom are illegal (we have evidence of this by pressing the local mobile home park owners), is far, far and away the most important issue this county has EVER experienced. EVER!

Yet the local newspaper, a fairly polished (graphically) rag, reports, publishes, investigates, absolutely nothing about it. It simply ignores the fact.

The newspaper is owned by Gannett.

The Media is the3 propaganda arm for the Lefties...and they have an Agenda....

It’s difficult to imagine they are so blatantly antiAmerican!

See this :

Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left

And a review:

**********************************

By  Kat Bakhu (Albuquerque, NM United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left (Hardcover)
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

Remember, when you hear about Anna Nicole Smith, Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton et al. you know that things are going so well in Iraq that the media can’t even cherry pick a troubled sound and video bite.
